Pocket watches...so sweet & beautiful, like candy for the eyes. I fell in love with them when I was 18. Took cheap Westclox watches apart, put 'em together. Went on to other things...until I realized that now you can buy them on Ebay!!!!

Thanks! If you check the other pocket watch videos, pressing the button while shutting the case is standard (especially gold cases!) but these are bascially all scrap and have a lot more issues than shutting the case without pressing the button. But, you are 100% right! Thanks for the comment ;-)

Most of them are probably broken balance staff pivots. Depends where a person is they can be a pain to fix or even replace if one doesn't have the right tools, even impossible to fix without the right tools

@ObviousSniper007 On an automatic, you can usually wind all you want, but on a manual you should be careful not to overwind.

Yes. some old school watchmakers still have parts for a lot of the old pocket watches. When they don't have parts available... they make them!

When you turn the 'crown' (the bit at the side or top), I think you are meant to pull iy outwards first before you turn it.

Hi, also make sure to push the crown in on a hunter case prior to opening the front lid. Also, push in on the crown when closing the front lid. These two steps will prolong the life of the lip on the inside of the front lid.

+Sandra Miller go to e bay A plastic Crystal is easy to place -Glass may require a heat tool -both may need some UV cement to place a drop so it stays on bezel-google it -you will first need to measure in mm then may need to convert using online tables

On the first one the movement might be made by Elgin but on the face of the watch it looked like it said Trenton. So the first one might be a Trenton pocket watch

that pocket ben is the most broken . the flywheel pivot is blown on it . the others are simple blown springs and clicks . should not take much to fix them minus the pocket ben . that will be alot

most of them aren't worth repairing, you should break them down for parts. but the little rose gold blue train half way through looks like a gem.

Maybe 3 decent movements in there, some interesting cases, but the vast majority of those movements are low jewel count junk and would wind up donating their balance staffs, roller jewels, and winding parts to better watches.

old watch can throw away, only crazy people fancy old watches. Today watch not only tell time but others futures included. such as GPS, heart rate monitor, pedometer, tide, moon phrase, temperature, barometer, altitude meter depth meter ,dive computer etc. old watch tell only the time and also date not more than that. they are not accurate and need service. cost more money. They are rated as vintage and fetch very low price. any body hate new technology?
