The first motorcycles were developed in the late 1800's, and had primitive and dangerous designs. But since then, motorcycle technology has certainly come a long way. Today, motorcycles are the preferred mode of transportation for millions of people all over the world. It's time to pay homage to the old school. Here are 15 incredible vintage motorcycles.

What vintage needs to be ones most adaptive to a variety of needs or trends in a bid to remain its presence in any public archive. Products remind of the good old days could be on the top of technology once meeting benchmarks related to the environment.

Notable bikes missing from your list are the Scott (there was 1 in the background of one of the videos). The classic was the 1927 Scott Flying Squirrel, which was the road version of the 1926 Isle of Man race winner. The Suzuki RE5 rotary engined bike is also worthy of the cool title.

The 20th Century bikes reach me on such a primal level. I see them and they look "right". They look as if they weren't made by man, but born into a species of their own and interact with us like horses and dogs. There is just something so perfect about every line from any angle. Then again, look how ornate the automobiles were, too compared to now where it's basically a $60k phone.

S McQ owned more Triumphs than any other movie star ever, he insisted that they would be THE bike in any movie he did that had a bike in it(he even had them written into the script of some films), even The Great Escape, it wasn't a BMW or DKW that did the jump it was a modified Triumph ridden by Bud Edkins. Fyi he also dressed as a German troop & chased his character Hiltz in his bid for freedom.

I've heard it said, if ya want a toy to play with a Kowalski or a Subaru are great. If ya need a sturdy dependable bike to get you there and back a Honda can do it. But if you're on it for the ride, only a Harley Davidson will satisfy your need. At least for me, and I believe my generation will agree.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking a Road bike is anything like a Works built Race bike, they may have the same capacity but the power they put out & the way it is delivered is totally different, both the FireBlade & the 916 are spectacular bikes, but the track versions are monsters & definitely not for the faint of heart, but in the hands of a standout rider, they are something else completely.

The bike & speedometer shown at 1:55 IS NOT the 1935 Brough Superior, unless it’s cutting edge technology included a digital display, hydraulic brakes and clutch… Now THAT would be truly amazing for ANY bike in the 1930s… what you are showing is a modern Brough, a completely different bike, and nothing to do with the original other than the name. C’mon, guys- you can do better than that…

Had to laugh at the 'WW2' footage showing a GI and a German soldier laughing and joking - obviously from a modern re-enactment, but rendered in black and white in the hope we wouldn't notice. What makes you think someone watching a video about old motorcycles isn't going to notice something that crass? Isn't there enough real footage out there without having to stoop so so low?

The first Honda 750 were sandcast engine because they weren't sure they would be sellable because everybody wanted their 350 twins nobody bought their 450 twins for every 1450 twin they would sell 6350 twins they saw it might be too big and it would piss off their customers which is why they did not invest in the production capacity to make diecast engines they wanted to put the least amount of investment in in case you turned out to be a sales failure this was the first spikes that if it blew up it was cheaper to buy another one then fix it
