Actually, they could've left out cinnamon for the elf! I have to touch my elf because my parents are divorced so I have to bring the elf back and forth between houses and we just giv him cinnamon and it works!!

The reason you can’t touch the elf’s: if little kids touch the elf’s and play with them they are most likely to loose the elf under a bed or such to where your elf gets lost and doesn’t know where they are so they can’t move! And bc they also loose their magic but! If you put your elf(s) in a circle of cinnamon they will get their magic back!! :>
