I have a teddy bear that was given to me when I was very very sick and in the hospital when I was seven. He is so thread-bear and worn, that I keep him in a box and never take him out for fear he will fall apart. He is fifty-seven years old. Every now and then, I open the box to look at him and remember the comfort he gave me❤.

Hi Melissa, I put my oven racks in the dishwasher, horizontal, so nothing get's blocked. Remove it towards the end of the cleaning cycle, the scrubbing is SO easy, put it back in the dishwasher to get rinsed. The rack is as new! Takes not more than five minutes to scrub, nothing else :) If the rack is very dirty, don't spend more time, simply repeat the whole procedure. Once it is sparkling clean again, it takes even less time to scrub (after the dishwasher did it's work) it'smore wiping it down :)

I have kept mine, too. Tbh, I inherited my own Brownie and Girl Scout uniforms, which my parents had saved. They saved EVERYTHING, but there were some real treasures in their hoard. (NOT a ‘rodents and rotted food’ type hoard, more of a too-many-clothes-and-papers-type hoard. RIP, Mom and Dad.)

I got enamel litter boxes, found at the side of the road. They are oval, pretty big. I use them instead of plastic, because with their nails when they dig it scratches the sides. So the smell gets in there and it’s very hard to get out. I looked into stainless steel litter boxes, but found them to be expensive. It did cut down on the smell, and they are very easy to clean😊 Hope that helps!!!

Where is the best place to store your cleaning supplies. I worry about temperature for a few items. I live in a very hot and humid climate. I just moved into a new home & we put them in this little closet under the stairs. I noticed when I open the door the last few very warm days that no AC reaches the area. I hope I can get some suggestions. 😊

Hi Melissa, all my nostalgic items I keep are in my second drawer night stand and not in my linen closet. Boy was I missing my Brownies and Girl Guides stuff when I saw your sache…memories! I have a couple things that come to mind without going in there: my collection of "Bonhommes Carnivals" which are from the Quebec City Winter Carnival which is a pretty big and getting known worldwide for one of the best winter carnivals; my watches and watchband collection but my most prized possession is my late father’s silver dollar that he ALWAYS had in his pants pocket at all times; yes one of the only sentimental things I have kept after my Swiss Death Cleaning project. Oh! and yes I do keep a sewing kit in my linen closet in my dad’s old toiletry leather bag…that I also never use but just in case a button flies off.

Molly looks quite indignant that you are removing her meticulously placed scent markers! LOL Also, having had cats for more than 40 years, there is no tufted furniture in our home and there never will be. I'm not a barkeeper but I sure am glad to have a friend like Bar Keeper's Friend. My mid-century not-so-modern sink looks new again. If only I could get it to stop leaking. What about cleaning those ultra-annoying, bumpy-surface appliances? You know the ones that the dirt hangs out in the little liney-cracky bits? Also, LOVE your Brownie sash. It's a keeper, even if there are no more Brownies. They're now called Embers. Change is good but so is remembering experiences that helped make you the wonderful person you are.

Melissa I love your videos and have been watching on my husband’s account so he keeps getting cleaning tips haha! My question is now that’s you have cleaned so many different places do you have advice when building what is the easiest/least likely to damage quickly surfaces? Eg bench tops, flooring, silver vs white fridge? What are your preferences? I live in Australia Queensland (very humid) and I am a very lazy cleaner and now have a baby so even more lazy… I will never buy anything wicker because it gets mouldy so fast!

Hi Melissa, I have a brown towel, that I used to think was HUGE (because I was so young & small), that I can't get rid of because I had all my swimming badges & patches from traveling that I'd sew on. Lol. In the "olden days" you'd get sew or iron on patches from various places: Disneyland, Maui, etc. So, I just can't seem to have the ❤ to toss this item. 😊

Melissa, if you don’t mind sharing, what brand is your sofa? I have 2 cats that aren’t declawed but are fairly well behaved as far as using the furniture as a scratching post. They do jump on the furniture and occasionally scratch it unintentionally and I have wondered if distressed leather would be the way to go to help disguise something like that. I want leather really bad for ease of cleaning and because of allergies. Thank you!

HI Mellisa, I love pretty much all your how to videos and I bought your DIY Recipe book. I do note that some of your recipes combine baking soda and vinegar which you say in lots of your videos is something not to do. My disinfect, deodorizing spray seems to be getting clogged up with essential oils. Do I need one of your $15 Cleaning Spray Bottles - or maybe it's a clean the spray bottle issue. Can you get back to me on this. Your fan Jaye Left behind in Chicago
@cleanmyspace8 ай бұрын
Morning Jaye- baking soda and vinegar have their place always! Depends on the application, so use it when you need it. Regarding the water bottle, sounds like the trigger may be clogged. Try some hot (not boiling) water and rejuvenate the trigger, otherwise time for a new one, and doesn't have to be ours but ours are tested for success!

The best way to clean your oven racks, is to put them in a kitchen trash bag, spray it with easy off or dawn power wash, its really good, let it sit for some hours or overnight, then go outside, scrub them and rinse them. I would not drain that dirty water in the bathtub or toilet. Trust me, you will do very minimal scrubbing. It's the best. Got that from a pro.
