Great Video. Thanks. I was looking at the comments and understand the 24MP issue. However, coming from DSLRs from years back, MP were less in Canon's Pro DSLR bodies I was using at the time for wildlife I shoot birds and BIF primarily. The pre-capture is a game changer and yes you need to get closer to maximize the the 24 MP. But many bird and wildlife photographers are using 400mm f/2.8, 600mm f/4 and even 800 mm f/5.6 with and w/o TCs to get close. And the reason for that is not so much MP but you cannot approach birds and bears and bison, etc. w/o affecting behavior, scaring them off or violating recommended distance requirements (i.e., National Parks). In my estimation, for a certain set of wildlife, sports, race car and other fast action photographers, the A9III is a near perfect camera.

😅This camera is so much fun….24mp is fine when you are getting shots you wouldn’t get otherwise. I also have the A7R V, so I’ve got mp when I want them.

Great video thanks, I love the new features in the A9-3 but was just wondering whether 24MP is enough for wildlife, in case you need to crop to get more reach, if compared to the higher pixels you have in the A1 and A7R series cameras. Would very much appreciate your thoughts on that.

Same thoughts about the 24 mp

ppl used 24mp for so long with no problems ....its nice to have 50 or 60 but 24 is still fine ....u can crop in camera for more reach vs doing it post ....also buy longer glass to get photos closer to the subject ....i think anything over 20mp is fine for most ppl work cuz lets be honest most ppl will only see ur work on a small phone or laptop screen 95% of the time

For me, at first, it was a concern. I have grown used to my Sony A1's, and the fantastic resolution that came with them. It sure does make life easy, and seeing your subjects in such magnificent detail is just wow! So, will I miss the higher mp count - YES! But, in exchange for the features on the Sony A9iii, I think it's a camera built for a very different task. This camera will get you shots you would have always missed with new features. I run two A1's and got rid of 1 of them, in exchange for the A9iii. So I now have the best of both worlds and I think this may be the best solution, if it's possible for you. The A9iii is super exciting and we are in for an epic experience! I think it's worth all the features, at the expense of megapixels. My 2 cents :) Also, I think the Sony A1 mark ii may be some time away, and I want to enjoy the tech on offer in the A9iii in the meantime!

Great video. Really helped with my initial setup. This camera should be a game changer for lightning photos with the pre-capture don't you think?

It's how and for what purpose you are using make's the difference and best of utilization. A1 is for a different purpose and A9ii is for different game altogether.

I am using A9iii since a month and not happy with its 24.6 MP resolution. Recently took few photos of small birds. Cropping killing its resolution. The only solution is to be very close to subject and it is not practical all the time, especially the subject is a small birds. If A1 ii is launching with global shutter and pre-capture, that’s an ideal solution. It will be nice if A1 ii is coming with photo capturing ability while shooting videos. I believe this feature is available in Ni kon

No, this is not the camera most wildlife photographers wait for. It is an A1 ii that inherits most of the brilliant features of A9 iii but also has a built-in battery grip, giving room for CFExpres type B cards
@connolly30002 ай бұрын
The A1ii is probably the reason Sony gave us absolutely fuck all in terms of firmware update. They could have brought their flagship camera back on top with pre capture and focus stacking for those wildlife/macro shooters. The fact that they gave us nothing means I’ll probably be swapping to the Z9 instead

i had the camera for 3 week iso noise is noticable in low apertures f5 and up . not usable for studio portrait photography flash sync need to be setup manually color shifts during session and flash speed will go up to shutter of16000 in continous mode and resolution is really not usable even in fast action when u will need to crop basically its really not a great tool for photogrpahy its strongest point is videogrpahy and its really where it excels
