@brett84604 жыл бұрын
Eh, I wouldn't worry too much about accounting. Imo that shouldn't even be on the list. Globalization, a growing economy, and a complex tax and regulatory environment are expected to continue to lead to strong demand for accountants. As the economy grows, accountants will continue to be needed to prepare and examine financial records. However, I do believe that some routine accounting tasks may be automated as platforms like cloud computing, AI, and blockchain become more widespread. That would allow accountants to become more efficient but I doubt the change will reduce overall demand for accountants.

Plus a robot can’t do remodeling yet either or custom/new work electrical or plumbing. I think that these predictions are still very optimistic too. @jusayenso81866 жыл бұрын
Starlight Channel ....I respect your point. But I study people by talking to them more than anyone I see anywhere. There's something I'm observing way too often about young people. They have very few social skills and avoid casual conversation. I'm guessing it's because their world is now in the palm of their hands with their new best friend. Their phone screen. I track details like nobody does. Then start connecting dots. Let them laugh all they want at me. It's too hard to put into words how I believe its so abnormal for a human being to act. I wont be surprised when the "phone" feature will start being offered as an option. Then eliminated. In a million years, we may not even have mouths like we do now. No joke.
@doover69206 жыл бұрын
A lot of truth there, we give them phones at 5 y/o and by the time they're 18 they're walking around bumping into walls and can't make a decision without checking and getting the approval 397 friends on social media before they can make a decision. These young adults are ill equipped and lack work ethic to even enter the workforce at entry level menial jobs. We did it to ourselves.
@jusayenso81866 жыл бұрын
Do over .....I believe the fish rots from the head down. It's no coincidence the chosen names are "smartphones" and "social media". In so many ways, it's turning out to be just the opposite. Always follow the money (among other details) when connecting the dots. Dummied down people getting addicted to abnormal behavior is not "smart" or "social". (socially well adjusted) Just look at the worst criminals blue collar or white collar. Most have psychological issues. Why is this not a major topic worthy of in depth media reporting? Psychology is rarely talked about?!?! It's not what we see, it's about figuring out what we should be seeing but don't.

Humans need not be lazy in the face of the impending mass-extinction of jobs. If machines come in and remove the heavy work and the mundane day-to-day tasks that eat up so much of our time when we're not at our jobs-- if our education is re-oriented to have a greater emphasis of STEM, business, and the arts-- if UBI and universal Healthcare are implemented in the US, taking the pressure off people to work shitty jobs like fast food and accounting-- we'd see a revival in the arts and sciences. Who ever dreamed of being a bean counter or burger flipper when they were a child? When asked what they want to do for a living, children almost universally respond with things like veterinarian, musician, painter, politician, inventor-- things that resonate with the humanity within them. Given the opportunity, people want to do work that gives them meaning in an otherwise indifferent universe. Boredom and laziness are what happen when wasteful distractions and menial work are substituted for opportunity and training.

So instead of debating over what should or shouldn't happen, we need to focus on what jobs are going to be in demand in the future! I don't see too many videos about the future jobs. In order for there to be consumerism, consumers need to have an income in order to consume! These automations are going to happen whether we like them or not!!! Unfortunately, like all things in this world, everything is subject to fail. Machines and technology are no different.

Discount all the people that blame the rich. Or that are afraid of big companies. Because they are simply cowards. And VERY uninformed about the nature of mankind. The more poor a people are the more inventive they become. You can more easily see this realization with an English proverb "Necessity is the root of all invention". Yes, it's true that the gap between the haves and the have nots is getting bigger. But the very nature of the digital revolution is driving costs of material goods more and more in the direction of Moore's law. If you don't know what that is... Shit, you've been living under a rock. And here is the kicker. The poor are NOT getting more poor. They simply are not getting rich at the pace people with money are. And the fact that there is significant proof of lowering prices. And the perceived fear of being left behind will energize our technological development at astronomical places unthinkable just five years ago. Note what I'm saying here. Because there are MANY futurist that speak of our tech. But I don't think they have considered this MAJOR social driver. Especially amongst our young men. Who are by leaps and bounds been checking out of society. Because feminism has reprehensibly and repeatedly told them how useless/evil they are. But once they say fuck it, and fuck you society, they will be a major driving force. Like I say take note. 5-8 years from today the world as we know it now will not exist...

One problem with that scenario: the technology isn't quite up to snuff, as self driving vehicles can only drive in the most rudimentary environments and don't work in rainy, snowy, or icy conditions. Even then, you still have legacy vehicles that are going to be driven by people. Then there's the issue of insurance and what will be covered and what will not be. Plus you still need people to unload semi trucks and the merchandise in them. Then there's the issue of energy usage and hacking. All of these computers and AI require energy, but what happens when a natural disaster (earthquake, hurricane, tornado, etc.) knocks out power for an extended period of time? What happens when some cyber terror group hacks the software behind these self driving vehicles and causes it to drive into a brick wall or over the side of the bridge?

Still humans will be needed, and technology will speed up, we will be in 10 years even beyond what we see in science fiction movies. I feel that the biggest changes will be not only in technology but in the economy with the theory of basic salary, less working hours per week, the downsize of office space, health will change, people will be longer as soon as cloning and the stem cell revolution become common changes in philosophy that will impact religion, politics extremes will eventually disappear in the large scale, although still extremists will exist but in smaller scale, and much more..

I don't own a Tesla but the last time I had a flat tire, I called my Visa card's auto club and someone in a small car (i.e. NOT a tow truck) showed up and fixed it. The operator asked if I were in a safe place before advising me to keep my cell phone on. I had constant communications via texts regarding where they were and he called when he was near my location. Where automation played a role was in connecting the operator with a network of contractors who can solve small problems like flat tires, dead batteries, and lost keys. BTW, I do know how to change a flat tire. But I also know I can't tighten the bolts enough for safe highway driving.

Nothing was being gained except for a middle man getting wealthy who was acting as a local grower. Ask to visit their farms and see where the food is grown - then you will know for sure.

You missed out teachers. A lot of them don't really do a good job, they are teaching because they couldn't find any other job. Online platforms can easily take over 90% of teaching jobs, and can do a far better job with the help of highly interactive content tailored for every student. There is another big advantage - a student does not have to learn at the same rate as the rest of the classroom, everyone can learn at a rate that is most suited to their capabilities or interests.
@alux7 жыл бұрын
You are correct in most part, but studies found out that people still need that human interaction, those connections you build in the classroom and there seem to be positive effects from studying as a group. So maybe the future is a hybrid of these 2. You take your classes (theory) at home, then go to "camp" to apply that knowledge with real world examples. The teachers only monitor their actions. You give it time and there will be no need to leave the house. Students will only need to 'scan-in,' answer a few questions, and the system will take care of the rest. Imagine if this were to happen on a global scale. Success Automated you appear to see the situation as do I. Don't be so fast to new tech. It's slaving us to them. But some feel they'll always be in control because they can turn them off. Problem is in 50 years ppl will rely on computers for so much, without them in 50 years, most will have the IQ of a mentally retarded individual. Ppl already rely on comps for everything. Kids hold phones for security, they'd NEVER unplug them. They'd be LOST. So in 50 years I'll come back with a huge ass EMF bomb, destroy the electrons throughout the entire atmosphere, and no more electricity for a century!!!! Start all over again. That's how this current race of humans will vanish. We won't be able to survive without them. And die as a race. See ya in heaven, I'm 50, lived my life well. F computers as a way of life, just a tool to me, nothing more. Don't need electricity, can survive without it, can you? Really, could you! I don't think but 2% could live without electricity. Doubt that 2%, you go 1 week without any tech. None, ever done a week off the grid? I know say 4 that I know could do it. And I've met thousands of ppl over 50years. So I say most humans are huge pussys to start with. We've become a super soft, fragile race. Unlike everything living, we kill eachother, exact revenge on eachother, kill out of pure greed or hate, we are losers by nature, and I think we're simply low hanging fruit being eaten by aliens like a milky way fast food restaurant. We're a snack pack for really intellectual creatures who DO KNOW how universe got here. We're dump cause they see us as we see cattle or pigs. We don't smarten them up any, as they do same to us!! Get a clue, think hard about facts in life, don't deny what's so obvious, You Are Food taken in as life force energy by other creatures. That's why ur in a cage supplied food and big pens with no ability to leave. You can't even leave ur front door, stranded on the earth human fast food restaurant. I like my humans scared or angry, more hateful humans are, more life force I can suck out of you!! So do hate and kill each other please, I'm in need of a snack.

The corporations are not "greedy", what does that even mean? The goal of capitalism is to be "greedy", is it not? The corporations are LOGICAL. Truck drivers will never go away. Driving is only one part of a truck drivers job. Computers can drive the truck for the driver out on the open road but a driver will always be in the cab ready to takeover and exit the highway to make the pickup or delivery. That means backing into a dock after opening the trailer doors or chaining down a load on a flatbed trailer and tarping the load to protect it from the elements. I am a flatbed driver. I stop every 100 miles or so and inspect the load to make sure it’s not coming loose from its securements. Don’t even get me started on hazmat and oversized loads. Those loads are watched closely every inch of the trip and federal and state laws dictate a driver is always in attendance within a few feet of the truck. No, truck drivers aren’t going anywhere but their job may get easier.

I’m an accountant/auditor, my take: 1. Disagree, Accounting is here to stay. Accounting (and technically finance) are the only two majors that truly talk about financials and what they mean. So long as money is used, yes it will always be relevant and is why accounting is nicknamed “the foundation of business”. Therefore, those with accounting majors have been know to easily flow into other business-related roles like controller, CFO, management, audit, finance (accounting and finance overlap in some areas, not the same thing; most finance can’t do accounting), and corporate law 2. Accountants don’t just crunch numbers all day, that’s only a fraction and more of a stereotype. AI (at most) could do the manual, repetitive processes like data entry and routine reconciliations, made easier with accounting software used to process the large amount of financial data. Accountants go further by actually analyzing and interpreting financial data to help managers and end-users (who usually have no idea how to read a financial statement) to make decisions about the business as a whole. The only transition that accountants will need now and in the future is good computer skills, which is why many accounting degrees have evolved to include “business analytics” courses. 3. Two things certain in life, death and taxes. Keep in mind that every workplace (ex: hospital, company, nonprofit) is a business nevertheless that revolves around the flow of money in and out. Poor accounting is an easy way to bankrupt a company from the inside or get audited by SEC or gov auditors (most of which have accounting degrees) that oversee companies/markets.
