@@dampsocc Well I was actually just making a cheeky reference to the devil went down to Georgia but there are actual differences between violins and fiddles, granted it is a minor difference all things considered but a difference nonetheless Violins usually have finer strings while fiddles usually have less fine strings made of metal from what I've been able to gather and remember which does make sense given who would be playing a violin (typically those of the middle class to upper crust) would have the money and resources to properly replace strings when they break, while the folks who play fiddles (hillbillies, red necks, melungeon and other folks of the holler and other remote places) wouldn't have access to such things and would have to make do with what they got and what is hardy
