Well done keeping it so clean & tidy, it looks nicer at your dock than some new boats do on the yard! great to see someone taking such good care of their gear. I think you'll find your side windows will certainly be toughened safety glass not plexiglass/perspex, only the 15ft & below models have plastic windows.

Thanks doo0t: it’s worth the time it takes to keep it in good shape. I’ll take another look. For the windows, When you nock on them they sure sound like plexiglass.

Thanks for the review. I have long loved this boat. I thought it would be great for White Sea bass fishing around the islands here. I am disappointed in Stabi’s lack of detail in all those little details. The number of loose ends discourages me on this boat. Typical buyer would not discover them until he has brought it home… for the money they should have done better. Glad you like your boat.

I couldn’t agree more, unfortunately I believe it is an issue industry wide… look at “Out on the Reef” and his crooked pilot house.. Trailers too, Same thing happened when my Dad bought a brand new Airstream!

Your starboard windscreen wiper is not upside down, that's how they are, it only looks upside down because it's parked to starboard, if it were parked to port it would not be upside down. The wipers are not a left & right set, they are the same. Internally the motor has a switch to set whether it parks to starboard or parks to port. You can take the cover off the back of the motor to access it. It also has a sliding adjustment inside to set the angle of the sweep. There's DIY information on the Roca website. Adjustment of the wiper blade angle relative to the arms is very easy, on the back of each arm you will find a small cam-lock clamp, pop it open with your fingernail and you will find the arms then telescope freely, set the position the way you want it then close the clamps again to lock it in position. They are designed that way so they can be easily re-adjusted after you take a green wave on the windscreen.

Hey Doo0T, Thanks for the detailed info!! Makes sense. I’ll check the website for future adjustments.

Great review, been looking to upgrade my boat. Im up North....... Washington coast often run up to 20 miles off shore, it sounds like you've been happy with how the boat performs in heavy seas. I have to be very mindful of the swell and wind chop and generally won't run out if less than 8 second intervals as it becomes super unpleasant. Have you run outside of the Islands? I appreciate you taking the time to review your boat, well done. Regards, Jack

Thanks for checking in Jack. I haven’t been outside the islands so far. Most of the fishing I do is within 5 miles of the islands. Ide like to try for off shore tuna this year down south if they run. San Nicholas island is our furthest island from shore at 60 miles so when the weather permits and I go out there I have to bring an extra 15 gallons of gas for peace of mind. The fuel tank is a bit small in this boat in my opinion. I’m big on comfort while fishing so if the swell is short I’m looking for the calm side of the island. I don’t mind short swells on the way to the fishing grounds and due to our geographic area you can have 6ft west swells at 8 seconds in the channel and flat calm on the south side of the islands.

You really take care of your stuff. That boat is like new maybe better than new. Also, can you add a rigid car port style cover over your boat docking area? That would keep it dry.
@Channelislandslife
@Channelislandslife Ай бұрын
Thanks buddy! No carport style cover’s allowed in this area. I’ve seen them online and they look cool though.

Thank you for the review, you must get a little better mileage over your old grady?
@Channelislandslife
@Channelislandslife Ай бұрын
Yes I do and one engine instead of 2 so 1/2 the price for engine upkeep. The Grady ran 2.0 MPG @ 30MPH

can you tell a difference between the Stabi and the Grady in stability when still fishing in rough water just being bounced around ? Also I saw a Stabi review from a guy in I think New Zealand and he claimed Stabi had not correctly done the thru hull bolting to isolate stainless from the aluminum hull . Do you know anything about that ? First I had heard of it so thinking the guy may have been mistaken?
@Channelislandslife

The stability of the 2250 in still rough water has been no different than the Grady in my opinion the middle of the fishing deck is the most comfortable spot. Sea keeper is probably the only thing that makes that situation awsome in any boat. haha anything that is bolted on to my Stabi is insulated with a nylon/ HDPE style washer or shim to separate the dissimilar metals, no worries there at all.

I'd see what prop you have. Have same boat. I see 3.5 to 4..0 mpg at 30mph. Top speed 49mph

Thanks Steve! That’s epic you’re seeing those numbers fully loaded. The Boat Dr at Y marina set This boat up. I’m conservative with the numbers I post, but It’s defiantly on the slower end of the 2250 spectrum from what I’ve seen online. I don’t care that much about the top speed given I don’t get to go WOT to often in my local waters but wow ide love to see 4.0 MPG! I’m lazy and run the auto trim too so I could probably get a tad more out of her if I manual trim.

The other thing you can do is if your worried about the seams on the chambers along the floor is run a bead of marine silicon along the join and should completely seal it from water intrusion but hear what your saying about the quality control these things should of been done from factory .. i think they have been expanding so fast globally that they cant keep up with demand so quality control has suffered abit

Totally! Happens with every manufacturer. Customer feed back is the only way to get better. Good idea on the sealant. We’ll see how it holds up for now.
