15 more chicks fledge to the wild: Laney Rickman Blue-throated Macaw Reserve Nest Box Program 2023

The Laney Rickman Reserve produced the most fledged chicks in one year with 15 chicks leaving 8 nest boxes. An astounding 128 Blue-throated Macaws have entered the wild population since the nestbox program started in 2005 by simply increasing the number of breeding options in the wild.

I agree with the amount of boxes needed being more. Id also look at grouping boxes in colony areas (in groups) this allows family's to nest near each other, nest gaurds to keep watch on multiple boxes. And most importantly, more eyes and defences on and against predators.

بزرگترین طوطی غیر پروازی یعنی پرواز نمیکنه بخاطر پرهای پروازیه ضعیفی داره واین طبیعت و شرایط محیطی باعث چنین تغییری شده که در نیوزیلند یافت میشوند
