None? Really? Do you realise how ignorant that is? I highly reccomend you listen to artists like Tyler the creator, Kendrick lamar, Kanye West, Jay Z, Saba, Noname, Denzel Curry, could honestly go on and on but, my point is, stop being judgemental to things that you have probably never actually took the time to look up and listen to. And if you dont want to escape your little bubble fine do you but, dont speak on things that you have no idea about and then paint an entire genre as garbage. I completely agree with you on the cardi b situation and, guess what? Litterly no one that really listens to hip hop today likes her or her music.

Pineapple Guy TG Venom is very judgemental on Tyler and Mac since he mostly thinks they’re average lyrically cause he judged him off of his early, even though it’s his opinion, he’s very entitled to it. Tyler can be great rhymes with songs like Yonkers, Domo 23. Tyler can go bar to bar lyrically with Joey Bada$$. Mac Miller can be great at rhyming as well with songs like The End is Near, Diablo, Cut the Check and Funeral and Mac can go bar to bar with Earl Sweatshirt, Schoolboy Q, and even Joey Bada$$ since TG tend to be judgemental on both of them

Pineapple Guy Some of today’s music is good, but we all have different tastes, and my taste is that most music made today doesn’t have heart. No meaning behind it. Some do, but most don’t. Some just talk about pussy and money. I know that this is a weird pick, but Gangster’s Paradise has a deep meaning behind it. What, is this guy talking about how he has murder on his mind really deep? Hell no, it’s a terrible song that just talks about how he murdered someone because he wanted to. And everyone in my school loves it. I don’t get it, and I get harassed for speaking my opinion about the song at school. You’re right, some songs are worth listening to today. But the artists you listed aren’t people’s taste, but it’s your own personal taste, along with others.

Dude. I’m glad I found your video, and it gave me a lot of closure. I myself only like the classic rap from the 80’s and 90’s that most people find corny now a days. But I stand by the opinion that it has its charm, and was good music. Like you, I used to like rap music despite being a long time punker most of my life generally listened to all genres of rock, and appreciating orchestra. Around the same time you got out of rap is exactly the same time I did, so I can relate completely. 2003 was a time when it took a turn for the worst. I was 13, and all my friends at school took the bait, and were essentially eating trash. I noticed the new disgusting messages the genre was pushing and narrowly escaped with my own untainted common decency intact. Never looked back. And it only got worse with time. You nailed all the points. But my observation is that the male artist tend to project themselves as these badass dudes that rap about how great they are how much money they have to spend on stupid shit that doesn’t even matter, and with lyrics that basically describe women as sex objects only. Basically one big dick measuring contest between different so-called artists. And on the female side is promoting slutty glorification, and that being a hoe is female empowerment along with the crimes you commit. It’s demeaning as hell, it’s wrong, and I am personally really ashamed to have to share the earth with the people who make this trash, but also the people who think it’s cool. And yah! I’ve voiced my opinions about it to others, and most everyone has ether called me a fascist, a racist, a hater, and the list goes on. People actually defend this shit. And if you know anything about punk, especially folk punk which is what I do for a living, we are against all that stuff in addition to supporting the LGBTQ community. And man! Let me tell ya, some of the people I’ve played with and heard sing could sing way faster than any of these new rappers, and they don’t even have to rhyme all the time. It’s just like rapid fire, and these guys and girls ether have or recovered from addiction, and smoke! Sure not most people understand or get our genre, and probably think it’s shit. But punk was never supposed to be pretty. We do what do and we love doing it. Hell! Me as a banjoist, and guitarist, all you basically need to know is 3 or 4 chords. That’s it. We make music on a budget and don’t need to sing about how rich we are or how many women we have. And our female singers are pretty real with their dignity still intact. It’s not about the money. It’s about the passion for making music first and getting by second. That is what makes a true artist.

The hi - hats in a modern hip - hop song are a huge turnoff for me. Another major turnoff is how there’s a subgenre of rap that got mainstream: Emo rap. Seriously, that crap is so fake and forgettable. Most of the time, it’s whiny and all sounds alike. Nothing unique.
@jrjefferson013 жыл бұрын
Thank You my man!!! you perfectly summed the same thing I have been lamenting about the music I love for the last 40 yrs being in the hip hop game. I was thinking about what can be done to change the bleak outlook because right now. Hip hop as it is today is nowhere, nothing, and bereft of the creative genius, the struggle, and social commentary of what made it appealing so long ago. I think artists (I use that term loosely) today in general dont understand where it came from, Dont understand the struggle, the poverty, the incarceration, and probably dont care to learn it either. My thinking is that if you become a rapper of any reknown you must must know intrinsically its history and that anything they rap about today how it connects to the culture and furthers the culture.

I think so called "rappers" today don't respect the genre like the rappers did in its infancy. When hip-hop first started, it was about lyrics and skill on the microphone, and wayyyyy before it was on vinyl it was all about LYRICS and SKILL. Not only were the rappers knowledgeable and appreciative of the skill, so were the fans. The fans knew a phony when they saw one, and they would call you on it. If your performance was wack, they let you know; you would get laughed off the stage!!! Not true today. I just think it's a generational thing. Back in the day, hip-hop was a serious form of expression and a way of escape for people who had been feeling the sting of oppression for over 400 years...BLACK PEOPLE! Unfortunately, in a nutshell, when corporate America got involved, everything changed. Now it's just something that every kid from Iowa to India wants to do just to "get a bag,"💰 and every other kid from the suburbs wants to listen to so they can look "cool" and say the word "NIGGA!" It's really a d@mn shame if you ask me and I feel your frustration TG Venom, I really do 😢 #OldSchoolHipHop4Life!
