It hosts one of Canada's top ranked universities, world class cross country skiing, and restaurants featuring food from many different countries in including the world famous Hoito.

Great video of Thunder Bay! No other city in Ontario is situated in such a beautiful natural setting in fact in all of Canada Thunder Bay is only second to Vancouver for it's natural beauty. How many cities in Canada have a breathtakingly beautiful backdrop like the Sleeping Giant? or Mount McKay? Can you name them? Thunder Bay must have the most beautiful harbor view than any other city in Canada! Thunder Bay truly is... SUPERIOR BY NATURE!

Thunder Bay is my hometown and where I was born and raised m.. you are correct ! We plug our cars into the house so they start in the morning! I’ve felt as cold as -45 to -48 Celsius! The winters are long and cold but it’s a dry cold so easy to dress for :) Days are longer in thunder bay too. Summer it stays light outside till 10:30/10:45 at night. I’d say average in winter is in the -20s/-30s but they don’t seem as harsh these last few years

Born here ... moved in 86 but retun to visit family. Sad to see such a decline. Tent cities in many areas. Simpson St looks like downtown Detroit. Block after block of empty and abandoned buildings that are literally falling in on themselves. I live in a community with a much larger indigenous population and see none of the public intoxication or people passed out in doorways or just wandering into traffic whenever they feel like crossing the street. Roads and potholes that will take out a vehicle. The bridge on River St was closed last year when I visited, and still closed again more than a year later! 1 theater, no Costco but 9 or 10 Dollaramas and 3 Walmarts. So many cities with lesser population have Costco and Walmart and Superstore and still manage to thrive! Local government really needs an overhall. Blocking a business like Costco is utter nonsense. It would create decent paying jobs and bring in a lot of business from the outlying communities. Oh, and your 1 hospital idea was crap! The city I once loved as a kid literally has nothing to offer kids in the way of entertainment. No roller skating rink, 2 ski hills left out of 5 or 6. 1 outdoor pool. The city is going in reverse, not moving forward with the times. Old and dirty with nothing and nobody doing anything about it. When my family visit me they honestly can't believe the difference in 2 cities the exact same size. Unfortunate that people are okay with living in a corrupt and extremely racist city. So much hatred for the indigenous population that it baffles the mind. I did not feel safe when I was there visiting this time. I just don't understand why you put up with be told ... its the climate. That's why we can't fix the roads. That is crap. You choose to use sub standard materials and wait too long to fix the problems. Way worse climates have far superior roads. Someone is lining their pockets and telling you a pack of lies. Seriously, go and visit different cities and see how different you are living for the sake of an elite group of wealthy individuals who call the shots while they vacation for 4 months of the year on your tax dollars. In the words of Bette Davis ... what a dump! Good luck. I hope I never have to come back to this place!
@karlfalckh3498 Жыл бұрын
Sounding a little negative there sir. Which Utopian place did you move to? And have you really ever been anywhere else?
@GO-jv9bb Жыл бұрын
@@karlfalckh3498 I live in Burlington Ontario. And yes I have been many places, and still none seem to have the racist attitudes that plague Thunder Bay. Winter is bad here too but the roads manage to be repaired quickly with no excuses about the climate. No boarded up buildings that have sat empty for 10 years. Every city has their issues but Thunder Bay has unfortunately fallen into a noticeable decline that nobody seems to want to remedy. My last visit a month ago I needed a vet for my dog. Not one in the entire city! And a five year wait list if you actually live there. No Doctors and no dry cleaning. Seriously, what city doesn't have a dry cleaners? Plus you are on one of the biggest fresh water lakes in the world and yet you can't find a fish market anywhere. It is like the city stopped 25 years ago and never grew. And it only seems to be getting worse not better.
@karlfalckh3498 Жыл бұрын
Wrote you a reply but it was removed. Let's try again. Lots of crime and racism in Burlington and Southern Ontario. Your roads down there are horrible. We've got lots of places to buy fresh fish, including East Coast Lobster. And we can catch fresh fish to eat right inside the city limits, whereas your fish are toxic. Dry cleaners are coming back but it's crazy you base a city's merit on dry cleaning amenities. There's a shortage of vets everywhere in Ontario, however we are now getting a Vet school. Please stop being negative and bitter.@@GO-jv9bb

@@sachindraminiwan2519 I would do your own research, but since your asking me. I was born there in 98 and moved west a few year later. According to the RCMP, Thunder Bay has one of the highest murder rates in Canada. That survey was done in 2019. The murder rate 5.56 per 100 thousand. The population of Thunder Bay is 107k people. Most people in Canada when traveling there know it’s not a safe city to live in. Like I said the only redeeming quality is the nature. Which is very true, the outside of Thunder Bay is amazing, and it’s beautiful. But once you enter Thunder Bay, it’s a whole different story depending on where you end up.
