I'm sure Texas didn't invent standing still then scaring the crap out of people... I used to do it as a kid in the 1970's on a remote island in the middle of nowhere.. had no access to TV and computers weren't invented yet. So it's not a Japanese version of anything Texan, it's probably been around for 20,000 years. You think ancient Egyptians didn't dress up as mummies and do the same thing around the pyramids? I bet they did.
Always impressive to seek pranks done respectfully in Japan. Given social norms there and the generally more reserved population, it's not always an easy feat to do pranks like this respectfully and without upsetting anyone, so kudos to you.

Nah this is what pranks are supposed to be, harmless, no one gets hurt, everyone has a good laugh afterwards. Most douchebag "prank" channels these days involve trashing stores, harassing employees, trespassing in private property, assaulting someone in public and threatening them with knives or guns but it should fine because "it's just a prank bro"...
Everyone in the video is so respectful. Inspiring and wonderful to see comparing it to America (which is the complete opposite)

I’m amazed at people’s reactions. Just because they act out at the slightest move by our Samari pal means they are fully aware of Japanese history with these guys. I’m impressed! The reason I know about these guys is because living in San Francisco for 50 years the local Japan town movie theater showed Samari and ninja movies every week. Theater was always packed with us white guys, Chinese guys and Japanese Americans. Loved it all. I would love to buy a set of these original movies but they’re expensive as heck!

You can quite easily find the Kurosawa samurai films: Shichinin No Samurai [Seven Samurai] (1952), Yojimbo [Bodyguard] (1961), and Sanjuro [Thirty-year-old] (1962) on the Archive if you can't find them anywhere else. If you like westerns you may recognize the similarities between Seven Samurai and The Magnificent Seven and between Yojimbo and Fistful of Dollars. Both are adaptations of Kurosawa's films.
@melapredan6208 Жыл бұрын
@@uncletedscabin4625 Kurosawa is cult living forever even in Europe. but its sad he is forgotten in TV - the channel owners only prefer US movies and series. Since streaming service east asian entertainment is powerful and strikes back to Hollywood (Oscars to east asians, actors from korea) and overruled Bollywood. The entire world is loving japanese, korean, thai, chinese, taiwanese and vietnamese series. *deserved* I still have Kurosawa movies on video tapes!

Very funny. I like how he gives different responses to different people. A wave for the baby and grabs his sword to the men. Very careful to make people jump with fright but not to upset anybody. 👍
