You mentioned many things that would be on my list, too. I found them excellent reminders; no matter what age a woman is. For me “growing old gracefully” means not complaining about my age nor using it as an excuse, but embracing that number. Looking good in my 70’s means fun clothes that suit my lifestyle but are

I love that this puts the emphasis on kindness. I am a social worker and a lot of my clients are people who have experienced poverty. Many feel locked out of spaces that they see as “classy” but the first step is common sense civility which most of us are capable of. I would add that the host gift doesn’t have to be expensive. My bestie brings lemons from their tree or homemade jam sometimes

I LOVE your insight - thank you so much. I couldn’t agree more. I grew up in a military family, but mom always said “It costs nothing to be nice, and say please and thank you.” 🥰

Aging gracefully is not being frightened by aging, not undergoing plastic surgeries all the time and having other thing to occupy yourself with than aging [ hobbies and interests ]. I think aging gracefully is more a state of mind than a state of your body, although caring for your health and grooming is important too.

Amazing video Annie. Thank you. I am adding my input here. Being a greek living in Switzerland for many years, one thing I have noticed when I came to live here in Geneva is how discrete people are. Of course it mainly comes from the calvinist culture but it is also class and good manners which I have tried to learn from over the years. Money: They don't discuss money and they do not show money as well even when the bill is placed on the table, it is usually covered, which is something I don't always see in other countries. Voice: They are very discrete also when it comes to the tone of their voice. What I mean is they never raise their voice even more so when they are in a public space and when they hear someone doing so they get very irritated. Their first comment? Tourists...! It may sound discriminatory but then again how many of us have been disturbed by the loud speaking and laughters of a group of people on the lobby of a 5 star hotel. You would expect better but then again...! I think it is not classy to speak loud especially in public spaces: hotels, shops, trains, buses, etc. Smile: Additionally smiling is a characteristic of good manners. You may be on a corridor or the lobby of a hotel crossing with strangers. While you may not always have to talk, it pays off to smile and greet gently with your head. It is a gesture of class and good manners. Gossiping: it is the first indication you have no class. Classy people do not gossip and when it happens in a group of friends they will typically say something along the lines: I am sorry, I do not feel comfortable talking about someone who is not present, or will change the subject to avoid awkwardness. Humility and kindness: Last, being humble and helpful even with people that are there to serve you shows that you are raised well and have good manners. Of course one needs to be genuinely a good person to treat others always with respect, regardless of where you are: at the airport, shop, hotel, etc. Especially at places where people are constantly irritated and in a rush go the extra mile, be there early and start by saying: good morning, good evening, etc. then ask if they are available to help you before jumping on asking your question, you will see how much better you will be treated. Apologise if someone for no reason is aggressive towards you and ask kindly how you could be of help. Last, tolerate even if it isn't your fault, who knows what battles may that person be facing at that moment. Be genuinely a good person. That's how you gain class. Bonus: your partner will notice and learn from you too. ;)

classy women do not overeat. They talk with low and quiet voice, and slowly and pronounced. And speak never more than necessary. They dont gesticulate or move rapidly, but elegantly "lazy". They smile most of the time and never put themselves in front of others. They make everything kind of with understatement. They do not behave "showy", but rather seek the background. So they do not dress "striking". They will not lie or cheat or betray somebody . And they live with generosity, to themselves and all others ....They know true values. And they live from the heart - what is the greatest luxury. Be a classy person is constant work. I know firsthand ...

I’m a firm believer in treating others with kindness & respect (until they absolutely show they don’t want it). My husband takes it a bit further & if someone is wearing a name tag, he’ll use their name. Freaks them out a bit but it does make them smile. Leaving someone with a genuine smile is always a good goal!

Aging gracefully should look much like an obre effect on a painted wall. Where one color subtly transitions into another with no definitively lines between.. This means taking a 3-5yr re-evaluation of yourself top to bottom. Update hair style, makeup and wardrobe. This should be subtle and age appropriate. Keep timeless classic pieces that can be incorporated with the new. Sudden drastic changes should be avoided. A gradual transition through smaller updates while keeping a timeless classic look gives the appearance of Aging with grace.

Aging Gracefully means acting and dressing appropriately for your age! If you're older and you are dressed like a teenager, or you're older, and you talk like a teenager, you're not fooling anyone thinking that you are a teenager. Hello, I have one question. Despite the fact that I agree with you on pretty much everything you said, I don't understand one thing... Why did you use a picture of Meghan Markle to illustrate "classy"? It's clear to me why you used photos of Cindy Crawford, Queen Rania, et al, but I'd like to know why you used Meghan Markle. Thank you.

First, I seek to include women of all races, skin color and sizes as our community is one of inclusion and representation. Second, I personally like her clothing style. Finally - having shot over 400 videos to date, it is very difficult to find representation of African American women (or anything other than caucasian), in the 'style' category.

Sorry, but it is not at all classy to bring a gift to an invitation. The real gift is to elevate the conversation and the mood .. effortlessly ! and if appropriate, make the counterinvitation. Gifting somebody who wants to be a generous host is like gaining control over the situation. It does not feel good at all. Except you meet your best friend one on one.
