You are absolutely right about 20 states out of 29 speak Hindi and their state language but South Indians do not speak Hindi and even indians who travel to South India have difficulty communicating with them . But state language is not really a thing anymore . A common example is that Bombay/Mumbai is in the state of Maharashtra and the state language is Marathi but 40% of the people do not speak Marathi . Indians ATLEAST speak 2 languages , for me personally and many others English is my 4th language

There is a lot of things you have to know about india, even most of indians take a lifetime to know ourselves. India has not invaded any other countries in the history of 10,000 ywars. The first Physicisn was also from India called " Charaka" u can get his record in a book called Charaka Samhita. Swamy Vivekanand also had said in one of his speeches that there is evidence of Indians being the designers of Egyptian Pyramids, u can google about it to know more. The Nalanda and Taxila Universities were the best among thier times for education which had 60,000 students from all accross the Globe. The Notes and Mathematics behind composing Music was also found in India, ancient India was also known for its excellence in Architecture. Most Indians speaks 2 languages(hindi+their regional language or English+religion language or English+Hindi in case hindi is their regional language ). And a good number indian speaks 3 (English+hindi+regional language) And yes it is possible that two indian may not be able to have a conversation with eachother, happened to me several time when visiting another state.

To be completely honest, its not quite confirmed which culture/civilization is the oldest. The 4 oldest contemporary civilizations on the planet are: the indus valley, ancient egypt, mesopotamia and the anatolian civilization. But its hard to determine which one of these are the oldest. The largest one in terms of population and area was the indus civilization in India though, that much is confirmed. Its also harder for archeological objects to last a long time without breaking down in warm and tropical climates like south asia, so there could be older things we havent found because of that reason.
