I was in retail for 5 years for TJX and it is a fun job for entry level, but those who do not wish to grow shouldn't beg for higher wages. I worked and went to train myself to do something better elsewhere. I want to keep growing, but too many people are in the propaganda of in the feeling sorry for themselves brand. So no, their wages are fine, it is a job not a career.
@jamesriddle72467 жыл бұрын
They can ask all they want. If they can prove their value, they should get it. If they don't, and yet have proven their value, another company will be willing to pay it. What they really need to ask themselves is this - is someone else waiting in line to do this job for the wage I'm paid, and are they just as qualified as I am? If so, they should stop whining and increase their value before making ridiculous demands.

Alux.com I'm a Walmart employee and honestly in this day and age it is difficult to live on your own by yourself and afford utilities plus rent and even a car payment the minimum wage itself being raised would not help it up two companies because honestly at this going rate I'm still going to have to work 3 jobs just to survive

I briefly worked at a Walmart in the last century and I can attest to the fact that back then at least they were also breaking OSHA laws. Walmart that I worked in was not a 24-hour store so on the weekends they would take one employee and lock them in the store overnight when OSHA clearly stated that at least two employees must be on hand in case of an emergency. It was also around this time that Walmart got rid of all of their meat cutters and instead starting bringing in prepackaged meats so besides letting go of workers it also raised the price of meat and also made it less fresh which still goes on to this day.

You are correct, i learned you rarely get a break, I worked 8 hours with no lunch or bathroom privilege's, after few tines called OSHA he would make note of it, next day I was called into the office, I was granted to leave when ever I wanted to take break lunch or use the bathroom. I did anyway. I told asset management while on door duty using the counter during covid , i would go before a family if I had to, in front of them. If you got hurt at my store they would not right up work injury case. I was expected to work off the clock, i refused and if the so called managers asked the wrong way i stand my ground , in professional manner (no fowl language , yelling etc.) soon the store damager learned about me I was her favorite, even after I quit she still likes me a lot. Walmart even use to under pay its women employees and add women could not be a manager as Sam orders, women are inferior

Walmart was also had opened in my country Indonesia (especially in Pluit Village Mall (formerly known as MegaMall Pluit) North Jakarta near the Airport) in 1995, but it was closed down in 1998 due to bankruptcy and money crisis in my country in May 1998. The company was purchased by Carrefour to replacing Walmart, but in 2013 Carrefour Indonesia was 100% acquired by Chairul Tanjung Corp (a.k.a TransCorp (Indonesia and Asia's largest and integrated media and company group) and they have the subsidiary named TransMart by Carrefour.

A few months ago, a guy stole an airplane and wanted to kamikaze it into a Walmart store. They eventually found a note in his airplane stating something along the lines that "Walmart is owned by billionaires who pay workers low wages and that insurance would cover any losses to the company." Then I heard another story the other day about a Walmart manager who killed a bunch of employees. Walmart needs to repair their public image, and it starts with treating their employees better.

I worked at Walmart during a winter for extra money. Employee neglect Its rue you are expected to work off the clock. Doesn't care for its employees I was hurt at work lifting and all of management ignored my injury, not until a 3rd party mediation company got involved and was granted to see a doctor at Walmart's expense. I had surgery walmart denied me healing benefits, i had to live off my own savings until a work comp case was settled. Quality control used used to rank the electronics, Best go to dealers, next to electronic stores, then low end retailers Sam learned retail from J.C. Penny in Des Moines Iowa. Also a Penny museum in Hamilton Missouri with Sam's picture in a display cabinet. Walmart uses listing devices was caught recording cell conversations and at the check outs, All the cameras in the store some are only fake as asset management told me, reason why we must check up on customers asking if need help Walmart under pays its employees and runs lean staffed stores. For the longest time many employees were on welfare. Wisconsin governor, conducted a study a study with Walmart had more workers on welfare than cities without Vermont is the only state without a walmart declaring historical interest, A Christian based Dutch community is very strict in my state, all stores and citizens can not work on Sundays, my cousin was sent a letter as he works un a window company he had only Sundays off to mow and work around his house. Walmart came to town changed all that New York has tight labor labor laws reason Walmart is not in new York city friend told me. Walmart tells its suppliers what to make to sell in its stores, hoover vacuums and others must make lesser models to sell at the price walmart wants. Got rid of stanley tools tools to sell poor quality hart tools, a friend bought a hart drill was using it and it stopped drilling, he took it apart the drill contained plastic gears, the reason it stopped drilling, was due to using plastic they stripped.

You might still be using walmart indirectly because always remember, walmart got lot of $$$ and they don't just operate by the name "walmart", they have bought a lot of companies and lot of stocks in many companies. They even have their own supply and delivery chain system on which many of the companies rely upon. So think again. You might be using walmart unknowingly. It is just inevitable that you don't use them because walmart good amount of the north america. Other good amount of north america is owned by microsoft, google, facebook, apple and bunch of other independent richies. Only little of north america is left after all this, which is owned by lakhs of different small companies.
