I think Jane didn't wake up the others because probably Audrey would put them asleep soon after, as well as Jane. If that happened, she wouldn't be able to help Ben when he was turned into a beast. Remember that Jane escaped because Audrey was confident that Jane would fall asleep, not counting with the lake's magical ability to undo spells.

Why did Hades hurt Mal? I have this theory: Their relationship was a secret. By saying this I mean that few people knew Hades was Mal's dad. If he was attacking her friends but then when she protects them Hades suddenly stopped, that would've been suspicious, don't you think? He didn't want to do it but he had to because he really wanted to get out. He did what he had to do. (See what I did there? 😉) Edit: okay also maybe Mal pretended to be way more affected than she actually was by the attack. I mean, when Hades says "quite a show you put on out there" it could be that!

If your idea worked, mal would have already drowned because in d2, mal used a spell to make the vespa drive on the water and it kept on driving on the water until it got to land even in the barrier. Descendants 2: when Mal left her spell book at the Isle after getting Ben back from Uma, Uma used the spell book to get through the barrier. Descendants 3: when they went back to the Isle, Mal turned back into her young self again and Celia told her that evil magic doesnt work at the Isle. I'm confused because if magic doesn't work at the Isle, how did Uma get through the barrier?

Uma was already outside of the barrier when she used mals book. She didn’t use it to get out. She said she dove through the barrier before it closed.

Answer 4: Hades Ember I dont know why the vks needed the ember but theory is that uma and mal are related somehow. And mals dad is hades so they both have hades power. Thats why they did not need the ember. Second theory that umas shell and hades ember were strong enough to brake it because uma had hades ember in her shell

The theory is that Uma is somehow related to Poseidon, who is related to Hades, but we don't know that for a fact. My theory is that it's rock, paper scissors. Scepter is stronger than the shell, weaker than the ember, ember is stronger than the scepter, weaker than the shell, the shell is stronger than the ember, weaker than the scepter.

On Mal's and Hades' relationship: I DID think the change was a bit drastic in the short amount of time....but being myself the daughter of a man who divorced my mother when I was 2 because he couldn't handle my mother's attitude (just like Hades told Mal "try being married to your mother"), I understand that in spite of feeling abandoned by your father you could still very easily seek that father-daughter relationship (specially if your father shows that he cares at least a bit about you and seems MUCH less moody than your mother) Additionally, Mal's mother was very absent due to her lizard situation and everything. Hades was basically the only parent she could really have a the time, which could very much affect her response to her interactions with her father I'm not saying that's it, but having experienced something similar, per say, I feel it could be considered as an accurate interpretation of why their relationship evolved like that

Answers (sry this is sooo long): OLD HAG: the spell didn’t return because hades ember removes any spell made by the staff and mal was holding it when she crossed the barrier BLACK MAGIC: idk WHERE’S LONNIE: she wanted to move away from Disney after D2 ended and she was already in lots of auditions for other shows when they asked Lonnie to return THE KNIGHTS: Audrey’s magic wasn’t strong enough to overpower mal’s magic yet and ONLY mal used a spell on the knights to copy their dance moves HAPPY B-DAY JANE: Audrey was looking at other people who fell asleep already and wasn’t paying attention to Jane (chad tried to warn her but of course she didn’t listen) ENCHANTED WATER: idk, but probably because 1. there’d be no movie and 2. Okay so. The first one. It was mentioned earlier that the only way to reverse the septers spell was with hades ember bc well (spoiler alert!!!!) He's her dad. So basically she's half maleficent half hades. So when she came back out. She still had the ember. And being his daughter. It reversed the magic cause by the scepter
