If you're not sure you're holding the board correctly or not you can always check that with looking at the right bottom corner. The square should always be a light square, this goes same for black and white.

You are exactly correct! I figured I should mention this in the video because the board didn't come with coordinates to help you find the right side to set up your pieces.

Agreed, this set will look great on my coffee table when guests come over! Maybe it'll inspire a few to play a game!

Chess is regaining its popularity in India (my country) because of the Candidates victory and many a streamers. I hope this chess set comes home. I would love to initiate a-lot more chess playing in my part of the country and will help children grow their fondness towards chess. A good prize will be a great add-on!

It's exciting to see chess growing all across the globe and this year's World Chess Championship is looking to be a very fun one to watch! Good luck in the giveaway!

No way! This set looks so cool!

This set brings back memories of when I first learned to play chess with my dad! He taught me on a cabinet chess set very similar to this one, but unfortunately I did not enjoy the game much as he kept winning! Eventually I picked up the game once more... about 10 years later haha

Honestly this scares me a little because pieces scratch each other and these are handcrafted pieces so and I think like you know there should always be a form of protection like a linen or something.
@ChessUSee6 ай бұрын
I agree, it looked cool for the video to have the pieces in the carrying bag and so a few minor scratches would be worth it for me! I should say that the pieces do actually fit very snugly inside the carrying bag and so there is not a lot of wiggle room for the pieces. As a result they actually don't damage each other easily. This really surprised me how secure the pieces were.

Hello! The vintage set is not in the current giveaway, however as I plan to host more giveaways in the future, I can look into giving away a vintage chess board

@@ChessUSee Sorry, is the organizer responsible for customs duties? The problem is that they don't have the money to pay the excise fees and don't have a job. Can you get the prize completely free?
@King.Mark.6 ай бұрын
@@adadudud is good to ask ,there can be the same as 150 usd to pay customs in some parts of the world and it would end up getting shipped back if you can not pay,will have to wait and see ?
@ChessUSee6 ай бұрын
@@adadudud While the prize itself and shipping are covered by World Chess, they do require the winner of the giveaway to cover any customs fees or import taxes associated with the prize. This is because some countries have extremely high import fees. If you win, World Chess will be able to work with you and explain if any customs fees will be required. I am also more than happy to help at any point through the prize delivery process. Winners in the past who couldn't afford their country's import fees have opted for digital prizes when applicable or have simply passed the prize on to be redrawn for another winner.
@ChessUSee6 ай бұрын
@@King.Mark. Yes, this is one unfortunate fact about hosting an international giveaway, and unfortunately is entirely out of my control. For whatever reason, some countries just have very high import fees which make international commerce very difficult or at times practically impossible. I do my best to offer these giveaways to as many people as I can and I want everyone to have an equal opportunity to win! Sometimes though, there are things outside the control of World Chess and Chess-U-See that can impact this international reach.

@chess-U-See, is the winner already known?
@ChessUSee5 ай бұрын
I am waiting for the randomly selected winner to claim their prize! If they do not claim it within the next 30 hours I will redrawn the prize! All entrants have been sent an email with more details.

Sorry if this is out of topic, but can you do Magnus Carlsen age 29 vs. Magnus Carlsen age 30? I've been hoping for this to happen for days
