Very useful tips for readers. Reading or any other habit develops over time. I recently started an art journal where try to do art that is related to my current reads. I find it so interesting. It might be a record of my reading memories in future.

I do maintain a wishlist and reading journal and have tried a couple of 24 hour readathons. These are some very practical and effective tips and I have also followed a lot of such tips that genuinely have helped me be more consistent and intentional with my reading. Personally, I also think that if someone struggles to actually sit and pick up a physical book to read, audiobooks are a great option. They can start off with shorter ones and make their way through longer ones if that suits their interest. It has helped me a lot in the past and it still does. This is mainly for those who struggle with short attention spans.

I agree. Once you get used to audiobooks, they are a great way to read more. I now listen to audiobooks during my daily commute.

I cancelled my library membership as it was far off from my place and I would find it hard to go all that distance. An alternative could be audible or storytel subscription. I really enjoy listening to audiobooks now.

In USA, some of our local libraries put out their old books because they don't have space to keep them. I used to go through the library's “trash”. Sadly I no longer live close to a library. But if you do, ask the librarian about when they clear off their shelves. Another thing! After you read the books, donate them to a Goodwill store or other charity. Books can be recycled again and again and again ... "Books Should Never Be Thrown Away" 100springs.com/books-should-never-be-thrown-away/
