Brad, I haven't watched a video in some time but I wanted to leave a comment to tell you about your impact on my life. I was hopeless at 20/21, doing drugs, hopeless job, etc. I had always been into hosting game servers for the boys and modding games and decided to try software as a career path. I took your "Fundamentals of Javascript" course around 2018. It gave me the foundation to build the rest of my accomplishments on. Your way of teaching was amazing for someone just coming into the sphere. In the years since then I've completed my BS in Computer Science and have been working as an engineer for nearly 2 years in the ML infra space. Thank you Brad.

You made my day my friend ❤ There is no better compensation for doing what I do than a message like this. No amount of money, followers, etc. Congrats on your sobriety and getting your life together. It's not an easy thing. I know from experience. I'm proud to have any small part at all in helping you with that. Good luck with everything!

Wow, being born in a 1st world country is such a great thing tho. That's great bro happy for you. I'm learning for 4 years and I get no freelance job or a local job as they don't exist 😕, anyways I don't lose hope but hope is losing me.
@TraversyMedia

@@BlhJ400 I can't say I know your exact experience, but I know the feeling of being hopeless. I also know it is possible to dig yourself out. You may have 100 more failures, but you can get there. If you have an Internet connection, it's possible. We are lucky in that in this industry, we don't need much to start building a project or finding a client, etc. If what you have done has not worked, try a different angle. Also, your mindset REALLY matters. Don't talk or think in a negative way for a few months and work your ass off. I think you may be surprised. Look for motivating content on KZbin. Weed through the corny stuff and you can find some gems that can really change the way that you think. Hope is not lost on you brother.

@@BlhJ400 I know your feeling brother, just more patience and fighting a little more you'll get it soon. اجمد أنت بس واستمر في طريقك، إحنا بنتعلم العزيمة منكم أصلا!! امشي على خطة من أولها لآخرها ولا تيأس... إن شاء الله خير ❤

Hey Brad, I've been working as a developer at a company for two years now. I used one of your Udemy courses to supplement my CS degree back before I got hired and it was an integral part in building a solid web dev skillset, as web development isn't really covered in most CS degrees (unfortunately). Over the last two years at my company we've gone completely 'serverless' (ie we use lambda functions for everything) and from what I've heard this is the direction most other engineering departments are going. Because of this I've started to feel that the current KZbin web dev tutorial landscape has fallen a bit behind the times, with most videos still heavily emphasizing the differences between frontend and backend development, the importance of gaining full-stack development skills etc, even though these terms are becoming increasingly vague as more and more companies rely on cloud based architectures (as you mentioned at the start of the video). Anyway, my point here is that what makes your channel great is that you really do keep your finger on the pulse for industry changes like this and update your content accordingly. It would be easy enough to just crank out another frontend course or whatever, but instead you take the time to actually look into what's going on in the industry technology wise. This is why even after being employed for two years I still check back in on your channel to check out the new content. Anyway, sorry for the rambling comment, but your channel really is second to none, so keep up the great work!

it is good idea to learn some specific technologies desired, I thought the same way at the beginning, but when I try to apply for internship or entry level developer position jobs, there are lots of technologies we should aware as their job descriptions mention, I think before choose which technologies to learn or master, we should consider what the industry is asking for. After 25 years as an enterprise Java developer this video is helpful to discovering the next phase of my journey! The need for work/life balance made it difficult to learn new technology when the 45+ hour week only allowed for "real work", meetings, soft-skills training and time management. I'm currently like a kid in the toy store learning React, Node, Docker and thinking about training to get certified as a "Secure Software Lifecycle Professional". Oy! This video shows you that to be successful you need to choose a path you can stick to.
