The feeling of a bull elk walking up to you and screaming in your face is simply indescribable. The audio just doesn't do it justice as you feel the bugle reverberating to your very core. Congrats on the bull elk.

The couch arrived in two boxes four days early, which was great because we'd just moved into a new house and needed places to sit. My son and I put it together pretty quickly kzbin.infoUgkxitRzxya-XugamYgLwa_2G1gxPg4MCJHa . Another reviewer suggested inserting the seat into the side and I'm glad they did as the instructions weren't clear on that matter. It's incredibly light and slides easily across the wood floor, making it easy to move. It's firm, but comfortable. It will even be great to nap on. I got the gray, which definitely has strong blue undertones, but I'm okay with that.

This isn't trophy hunting, this is bow hunting. It's waaay harder than it looks, and if you really have a problem with someone harvesting their own meat from the earth then you should go and see where your meat comes from.

Have you considered how many animals had to die to supply the farmland for your veggies? How many millions of rabbits and fish are killed in combines and run-off from soil erosion dumping into the ocean? Hunting is one of the cleanest ways to eat, hunting is responsible for all of the funding that goes into the conservation of these animals, and a clean kill is by far the "nicest/easiest" way for any animal in nature to die.

As a Vegan, I actually think this is the best way to eat meat. Hunters are not participating in factory farming therefore not participating in torture, exploiding the land to raise livestock, wasting resources, and hurting the planet. Factory farming actually takes land away from wild animals and therefore impacts hunters in a negative way. Hunters fund conservation, and usually have the animals killed quite humanly compared to how a bear would kill them. They also make sure that there isnt over population for certain species which is all great! I used to be a hunter as well, but I became a Vegan because I want to cause the least amount of harm possible, to my body, to the planet and to other animals. I hope some of you will research the effects of meat on the body and how buying meat at the store is a horrible thing to do. Maybe with an open mind, try watching a documentary such has forks over knives or cowspiracy. Edit 11/12/20 I am no longer vegan and bow hunt for all my meat. LOL
@njitnom
@njitnom 5 жыл бұрын
Hi im just trying to orientate myself on this matter. Why kill beautiful nature for meat why you can just raise your own animals who never had the chance to experience beautifulness? This way the factory animals know no better and we save all beautiful animals in the wild? So why do you still think hunting is justified my friend? sorry for bad english :D

Cassie Ennis If you hunt in this day & age for sport then you have to be prepared that many people will (quite understandably) disagree with the practice. Just as you are free to hunt, people are also free to disagree with hunting (and likewise it could be argued that if hunters don't want people disagreeing with them then they shouldn't be posting their practices on KZbin where people are free to down vote their videos etc).

+Na Vermeer you mean meat pumped full of chemicals, dyes, hormones, etc? Supermarkets aren't organically farm raising meat to sell, they're mass producing that meat which means all the meat is full of steroids, so that they can't supply the demand with no shortage, elk, deer, etc is normal meat..it may not be in most markets, but it's probably one of the cleanest meats you can eat.

+Na Vermeer I could do that. But it's much more fun to track kill and chop up what I'm eating. Call it a sense of security in freshness, and a sense and free reign and freedom in primal instinctual feelings I have when a rifle is in my hands. Fresh meat, and I get to let the beast out of the cage so to speak. I understand you, and I don't judge. I wonder if you're strong enough to return the favor after what I just said.

Beautiful animal & nice shot. I understand that some people are upset by hunting but consider this. Through state licenses and fees, hunters pay $796 million a year for conservation programs. These programs have helped many animals not only survive but thrive. In 1907, only 41,000 elk remained in North America. Thanks to the money and hard work invested by hunters to restore and conserve habitat, today there are more than 1 millon.

What? thats what you got from that? Its so fucking simple and thats how you straw man him? This is why nobody takes radical environmentalists seriously, they cant even concede simple points like this, that are literally pro-animal and pro-environment. Animals have been brutally murdered in innumerably torturous ways for food for thousands of years, and they will for thousands of years from now as well. Human necessity outweighs animistic sentiment, no matter the value you put on animals, unless you equate them with humans, which i assume you don't or you'd be protesting mass murder every day.

I’m sure there’s guys out there that would call me a pussy, or crybaby but I honestly give 0 fucks. Hell during my 18 month deployment in Iraq, I watched plenty of absolute badass mofo’s shed tears. Not always for the brothers we lost either. When I see that, wether it’s in a combat setting or out hunting, I know that particular person has a huge heart, and respect for the life they’ve just taken. Tears are normal, and 110% natural. If you have a compound bow and there is sufficient let-off, why not draw early, hold it for a long time and shoot the elk when it's 4 yards away broadside and stationary? You could pick which ventricle to pierce ina double lung heart shot, no chance at all of missing a quick kill shot.

@matthewcooper6884 9 жыл бұрын
Sam Walsh So now you're labelling me just because of my opinion? No I'm not a vegan. I'm not even a vegetarian. I'm not sure if you know the difference between the 2. I love meat. But i also know how to get meat as painlessly and humanely as possible. The right gun, the right bullets, the right spot for an instantaneous kill. But sticking them full of arrows is not humane. I'm sure those guys used up all the meat and hide so it didn't go to waste, but idiots like that who want a 'thrill' should be given a faulty parachute and told to go jump off a cliff. Then we would have one less moron on the planet.
@samwalsh1256
@samwalsh1256 9 жыл бұрын
I know the difference between the two, that doesn't matter the point was you tend to see more vegans ranting about how hunting is unfair. Second hunting with a bow is not inhumane. It's all about shot placement, a well placed arrow will do the same amount of damage as a gun. Thirdly suggesting that someone should jump from high with a faulty parachute doesn't seem humane to me.
@matthewcooper6884
@matthewcooper6884 9 жыл бұрын
Sam Walsh Well they wouldn't be in pain like this animal was. And their death would be instantaneous so that's humane enough for me. And it would make the world slightly more bearable with one less fucking moron alive. :)
@samwalsh1256
@samwalsh1256 9 жыл бұрын
Their death would not be instantaneous it would be long and drawn out. That's not humane, you jump out of a plane with a faulty parachute and just plummet. You know their is nothing you can do stop it and you just wait for the impact. Not mention the trauma you would cause to the people that have to clean up the mess your body would make. So in the end your idea is a lot less humane than bow hunting.

No matter how people try to justify it, people in America do not need to be hunting animals like this in the 21st century.
@Tokis86
@Tokis86 9 жыл бұрын
***** That still does not justify killing the Elk though. The Elk has far more value alive to nature than to the hunter. Killing a wild Elk does absolutely nothing to address moral issues going on in the farming industry.
@Tokis86
@Tokis86 9 жыл бұрын
***** Culling Elk isn't actually done for their benefit but more for the benefit of farmers (whose fields & crops the Elk will graze given half a chance) hence why Elk culls have always been controversial in America (there are also more than healthy populations of bears & wolves etc in Yellowstone). If the Elk damage agricultural land too much then the authorities have to compensate the farmers (and quite frankly its cheaper to shoot the elk than to deal with angry farmers). Wrapping up the culls as being something mostly done for the benefit of elk (rather than people, which is what it is really about) is IMO not right. The real reason why elk populations have flourished in recent years is because there have been stricter/tighter regulations on hunting (rather than looser ones). And regardless in this video, these people are quite clearly hunting elk for sport.

It's sad, but we need to do that. I don't get hunting for fun- it is sick. If u want so much deer meat to dinner, find a deer farm. We have it in our little country, i guessing big USA have some to. Andre van Tonder nope an never will my commented only stated that hunting in africa is wrong as well as america and europe but it also depends on the hunting like if your hunting because an animal killed a person then your allowed to shoot it, hutning season is much better because almost everything of the animal is used, hunting in africa is simple taking a pic with the animal and not doing nothing after, i only put my point out there and everyone is allowed there own opinion, like your opinion to disagree with some stuff i said thats all i just dont condole hunting if its animals like zebras and giraffes

No, mine is not merely an opinion ... I talk from experience as I live and hunt here (in Africa). All parts of herbivores, all the way to the largest hippo and elephant is fully utilised. If the hunter does not take the meat him/herself, it goes to the communities, but everything is used. Even the meat of carnivores is used for making animal food again.

Just like in Little Big man: the indian, he just kill to live but the white man kills because he enjoys it…. There is something so indecent in this woman's reaction. She is having an "orgasm" instead of registering the full spectrum of the deed. I am not against hunting (my dad was a big game hunter when we lived in Africa), but when a wholesome mature person understands fully the scope of life and death there is only room for extreme contemplation and silence. Nature is a church. When killing is done, it is an occasion to ponder our own mortality too. One should be only admitted in this church when one understands fully what is done. One has to be as respectful with his words of the life taken as possible. This is a beautiful creature whose life we ended. This creature has the same right to live as we do. Killing should only be necessary to feed one's family. It cannot be a sport.

Yeah, sorry I'm not gonna burst into tears after every deer I shoot and then leave a plaque espousing the bountiful contributions to the universe the deer had made. Of course it can be a sport, as it is something some people do for competition besides the fact that it is healthy meat, miles ahead of even the "organic" chlorine-bathed meat on supermarket shelves. The pursuit can be interesting, the encounter can be intense, and the kill can be exhilarating. It is the nature of hunting. If you eat meat from a store, don't criticize hunters.

If they aren't going to eat 90% of that they shouldn't be hunting, If you're hunting just to put a mount on your wall you've got issues. Now if you are hunting to eat and mount the head that's a little different. If you're out just wasting animals for trophy's you're not a hunter you're a murderer.

Why on earth would you even think of 1 second that they would not eat it? That is why we hunt. Bigger bulls = more meat, which is why we hunt them. The "trophy" is just a feather in the cap.

It is not "just for fun"... Ever... That is some crazy propaganda that PETA has successfully planted in the minds of many non hunters. The next time you find yourself suck in the mountains for a week with little to no sleep, tracking for ten plus miles a day with hardly any food or water hat entire time, while packing 40 pounds of gear; make a note of how much "fun" you're actually having. It is suck city my friend. And it is amazing. We hunt for food. Not for fun.

jajajah86 well to "afford" a 300-400$ gun and some bullets to feed you for years, seem pretty worth it, and hunting is not for any control bullshit, you either hunt for food wich is a normal right thing to do, or be these idiots in the videa and kill an amazing animal and just take a useless antler. also hunting for food can be plenty fun :p
@ApexPredatorTeam
@ApexPredatorTeam 10 жыл бұрын
Erskine Lothrop Great points. I fear his math is not on par with yours and mine though. :) But I need to point out that these people did not hunt this animal to only take the antlers. hey did go after a large bull, sure. But they did that because they get more meat from the larger bulls. Given that they only get a bull tag once a decade (if they are lucky) it stands to reason that they would go after the biggest they could find.

I don’t like the killing of these animals unless you intend on eating them or using their hide. God didn’t intend hunting this way as a sport. In the Old Testament there is a command called saar lebaleh haim. We are not to cause any unwanted suffering to living creatures. And if you intend on eating this animals we are commanded to dispatch them in a way that is as painless as possible. In the Old Testament God Commands that we even feed our livestock before ourselves and take special care that they live well until we need them. We certainly are not doing that in our day and age.

***** tahnk you for your analysis. But you didn't answer(and you don't have to of course), did you like the attitude of that woman? What it tells you as as human.Well, for me it says that an animal from th wild came peacefully close to a human and what was the result?Death. My opinion is this-in the last 40 years the 40% of the wildlife got extincted.And why is that beacuase of our irrational will to kill and destroy the ecosystem.I am an observer, and I study animal interactions.The wisdom of nature is precious because it came from billion of years of evolution.What do hunters and fishers do? They destroy large amounts of animals, why not for living the first for entertainment the seconds for profit. There is no logic here. Create a farm and grow animals, I accept that. But you have to leave the ecosystem alone to find its balanace, because where humans are there is no balance. In Europe they have destroyed wild life now for centuries, I can acknowledge that in the US the conservation in Alaska is something positive.But it is not enough. What that video shows me. A young woman, she could create anything she wanted, she could be a scientist, but instead she decides to kill animals and show it in video, and be proud of it. People are watching, these videos are history.

It's not friendly! It's looking to get laid! She is four yards away from an animal that easily outweighs her by 100 pounds, could be aggressive (because it's in rut). Had that animal chosen fight instead of flight she wouldn't still be standing here. It didn't come up to her, it didn't see her, she was hiding behind a tree, wearing camouflage and stood really still. You are truly an idiot if you think that elk walked there for any other reason than the calls. If you only experience with deer or elk is a Disney movie I can understand thinking herbivores are friendly by nature, they're not. I see way too many anti-hunters who don't know shit spewing their opinions about balance and natural order on hunting videos. Stop looking for videos you know you won't agree with!

For people to eat that is what must happen, not everyone chooses to buy the fake food from the grocery store, every animal that is slaughtered for global consumption was doing it's thing until it got put on a cage and fed steroids so they could be bigger quicker so they could be killed quicker. Do some research and you will discover hunting is not some terrible thing that the news wants you to believe, hunters pay for the animals, when's the last time you put money for animals? I've spent over 300 dollars this year for the conservation of wildlife by buying my tags and licences for the game I hunt. Again I ask you how much have you put forth for the animals to run free?
