Very interesting project. Congratulations to the people who brought this monster back to life. I built a steam engine in high school, not quite this size but the same concept. I have to rib the crew though, when I plowed, I plowed, most of those bottoms were skiving. I would truly like to know how many bottoms the 150 can pull at a full 6" depth.

I wish to see this engine

I have no doubt about the big Case's ability's, but if your gonna plow, then plow dammit! Put the thing in the ground and turn over the dirt! BTW, we just love it, The guy with the biggest toy wins!😂 Many old timers always claimed that Case couldn't make the original 150's work, and that's why they dropped it. Not so, those early engineers at Case knew their stuff, they well knew how to cure issues on the first run, Management dropped it because of a serious lack of market for such monster engines. They downsized it a bit and went with the 110 Case, they even found a limited market for those! Only about 500 of those were built, not enough to make any serious income for the company, say compared to the more popular 65 or even the 80 HP models.

Totally agree with the notion of having the plow set correctly and dropping the bottoms in the ground. They were just scratching the ground.

The ground was very dry and hard and they where not able to get all the plows to bite in properly. It would have ben nice if the conditions where better but they did the best they could.

I do not agree about the groundconditions: in the video it's clearly visible that, for example, the young lady on the far left of the rig leaves 4 neat and black furrows behind where others just leave straw. These plows are simple: set the depth and they bite! On 1 condition though: the person setting the plow has to pay attention to what's happening! Indeed there are many high bottoms to be seen leaving straw behind.

Very possible that some plow sections have the points in better profile than the others. This was a grouping of several different plows that were recruited for this event.@@baeruuttehei1393

Amazing technology, originally designed with a slide rule and drafting board.

And Big Tex thought they did something with a 28 bottom plow....
