@@I-Libertine Yeah Ok. Cellulose is the strongest natural fiber on the planet. And you're absolutely wrong with the "rot" comparison. Cellulose is an organic compound that is not broken down to its individual components by bacteria, enzymes, proteins or fungi. Radiation from sunlight, and physical force that breaks each fiber cell is not ROT aka organic decomposition. Every part of an animal is subject to organic decomposition. Aka Rot. Plastic started being produced in 1950, the wallet you found is made with vinyl, vinyl is a type of plastic. Leather doesn't act like plastic even when old. What Im betting is you too an old wallet,, put some older coins in it and a couple of rings, buried it, then after the summer ended you just dug it up.
@kevintyerman19064 ай бұрын
Bakelite, xylonite, celluloid and other plastics were produced long before the 1950’s, some going back to about the 1880’s. But vinyl was not invented until 1948. So yeah, a 1950’s or 1960’s purse most likely, but plastics in general go back a lot further than your post suggests.

@DGregg-xy6rdАй бұрын
So how deep should it be? It may be 150 years old but that's no guarantee that its been there for 150 years! Maybe grandma dropped it there on her way to the coin dealer to sell them? Or the bad gene step child stole her purse and left it there under some leaves? Either way there is NO formula for calculating how "deep" any object will be based on the number of years it may have been there undisturbed. With that said, who's to say it was undisturbed for that long too? A tree and it's roots will bring large rocks to the surface given enough time. And wind, rain, wildlife, plants and trees, can all cause any object on the surface to remain there, or any buried objects uncovered and exposed. It's up to mother nature. The depth of that object is no indication or clue at all that suggests this video isn't authentic. Who has time to fake something like this? That purse would not be something anyone could find and fill with coins and then bury 6 inches underground.
@user-lu4qo4yw9jАй бұрын

Do wallets dig holes? Why would anything on the surface not stay on the surface? I've found 6000-9000 year old arrow heads with the tip poking out of the ground. Not to mention, who's to say that 150 year old wallet wasnt dropped on the ground 20 years ago? And Celluloid was more common than leather beginning in 1870 when the US and many other countries began mass production of Celluloid purses. Dirt cheap to make and didn't rot like leather or rawhide and cotton canvas.

@@DGregg-xy6rdya I know, the first thing out of people’s mouths 👄 is always “ fake” 🤦🏻♂️ indeed like the wallet dug itself into the hard packed ground with grass growing on top and no obvious pre buried for the camera marks on the ground ! 🙄

What you call a "snap" was more commonly known as a pop rivet. It pops when you fasten and unfasten it. There's a stem rivet on one side and an insert rivet on the opposite side. The stem obviously fits into the insert rivet tightly because of the mushroom shape of the stem and the double taper inside the insert that is narrowed then expanded. The mushroom squeezes past the narrow taper and pops though. They've been common for more than 200 years. Read. It seriously challenges if ignorance.

The fake finds are getting better, but are still clearly fake. Just out interest overheating plastic does not make it look older. Putting lots of dirt in with the coins but not the other compartments looks odd. How would so much dirt get between the coins?

Not only that, if it was exactly how it was found there would be no dirt in with the coins at all... he "just opened " it for the first time!! So you can tell if the coins had dirt planted for sure. If it was actually real, there would have been no dirt in that oin part at all.

The fact this wallet and contents are from the 1960s or later makes this all the more interesting. The items have been buried for 150 yrears so they must have been in plucked from the future by a Time Machine, taken back to the 1870s only to be found by this guy in as latest 2023! How cool is that!
