On my race auto trans trucks I have installed tractor style hydraulic quick couplers in the oil cooler lines. It makes removing and installing the trans a much less messy affair and faster.

Nice all around content. Will be nice to see more and more customer rigs out there putting down the hp. As for the shifter adjustment an old drag racing buddy said it best, "We want to adjust it for the forward gears because we don't race in reverse!"

Would really like to get your expertise on parts breakdown for rebuilding my 47RE in my 97 dodge ram 2500 4x4. I had it professionally rebuilt about two years ago and was built for up to 750hp yet third gear is acting up with the truck only about 450hp. Plan on building the truck to atleast 650hp up to 850hp but want the transmission to be OVERBUILT (support 1,000hp) questioning buying a built trans but really want to just rebuild mine if possible. I’m running 20 degrees of timing, 5x16 injectors, 5” exhaust, 63/71/14 turbo that will be paired with a S480, FASS 165 or Air dog, Twin ram intake and other supporting mods. I rarely tow with this truck but don’t want to sacrifice being able to tow. It’s mostly a street truck and has been my daily but plan on beefing it up making it faster and definitely not daily driving it.

Without knowing what all is in it, it is hard to know how to upgrade. But building on yours would definitely be cheaper

You can cut a hole in the table and have a 25g drum under to catch all the fluid

what line pressure was he at? im curious what pressure it took to kill the plates. 200? 200+?
@horsetorquesdiesel2 жыл бұрын
I run 225 on my 07, 250 on my pro street truck. Line pressure didn’t do this, machined reaction plates do. He’s at 180-190 for reference

Josh i have a early belleville spring i putting in my forward drum . ive read they need a spacer or... What do you use to take up the slack a .875 billet forward piston or do you use the billet belleville that's thicker? Im surprised he doesnt have a pinned or bolt in sprag.
@horsetorquesdiesel2 жыл бұрын
The sprag is bolted in, don’t even mess with anything just get the billet spring

If you don’t run stepped reaction plates, do you end up with a lower clutch count or do you compensate somehow?
