I got to see this car in Person, its cammed, pretty nice setup... the people who had the car along with the Blue 2j, Nissan was these people from the middle East. They had two spare engines just in case one blew up, and also had like two more cars in their trailer, one being a R33.

+yurixruz In North America, the JZ engines are usually chosen over RBs because of their aftermarket support/parts availability. If you were to go to Australia or Japan you'd find RB-builds would be much more common.

I mean if every time something breaks you need to wait for it to come from Japan, people get real testy about that. In other words, do you want to be down for 2 weeks when something breaks or 2 months?

+youtubasoarus The jz is just a better engine. The stock oil pump design is terrible compared to the one in the jz engine. Lots of rb's go boom because of oil starvation. All the aftermarket oil pumps take all the good stuff from the jz design. The jz doesn't even have aftermarket support for oil pumps. You can shimm the stock pump for a higher pressure. And thats it. Cooling issues are just as common and thats why the whole drift scene gets dominated by jz engines. If you want an rb version which comes close to the 2jzgte block strenght, ou need an N1(nur) spec rb for 5000 dollar. The nur spec is strengthened which make it a bit more competitive compared to a jz. But never heard of one breaking the 2000hp barrier which is pretty common for jz engines.
