The Frisco rr had some very handsome 4-8-2 & 4-8-4 type locomotives, the cosmetic restoration of the 1501 was a well done job and the repaint is spectacular. I am glad that the Frisco rr saved a fair amount of their 4-8-2 and 4-8-4 engines for preservation to be on public display for future railfans.

Great job, folks! You are are remarkable bunch. It is evident it was truly a labor of love. Only one minor suggestion, would you please consider eliminating the white sidewalls on the wheels; they are not prototypical for the life of the that locomotive.
@steamfan-31824 жыл бұрын
The white walls are prototypical to the "as built" appearance of the 1500 series.

Oh, factories had powered tools back then. Usually powered by a static steam engine with a large flywheel connected to a belt that turned a shaft that many other belts were attached to that went to the powered tools.

Cosmetic Restoration?

Well It would be nice to put her back into steam and a fully working locomotoive
@adamburnes36553 жыл бұрын
It would be nice, but at least the engine got a very good cosmetic restoration to help it survive for many more decades to come. Maybe someday in the future it will run again.

They didn't have power tools but they did have Pneumatic tools. It's how they Built them. Using a power tool is just using a better Pneumatic tool in those old men's eyes. Used to own a set of Pneumatic tools my Great grandfather and Grandfather used that were produced in 1901.
