15016USB 22:44UTC 7/27/24 EAM from "Pitchout" FRG-7 scanner antenna.

As a test, I hooked up the FRG-7 to the old RadioShack scanner antenna and received several EAM's from "pitchout" on freq.15016 USB starting at 21:40UTC. Recorded directly from the Canon Rebel SL2 plugged into the FRG-7. The scanner antenna is mounted on the roof.

This is a HFGCS frequency used by the military to transmit coded transmissions, in this case an EAM, emergency action message. High Frequency Global Communication System broadcasts worldwide with radio traffic for all sectors of the military. Pitchout is a call sign from the sender of an unknown location. Some of these EAM transmissions can be quite long. Most of these broadcasts are on single side band (SSB) can pop up at any time or anywhere on the shortwave radio frequencies.
