He's not scanning for his sign (there are a LOT of Chen fans with signs, ugh wake up to 2016 people!!!) he is just looking around and taking in all the fans and feeling super appreciative of everyone. He is teary-eyed because he is emotional with love for fans and his members. Have you read the lyrics, which he wrote (minus the rap written by Chanyeol)?? He wrote how thankful he is to all the fans who supported him on his bday (a concert day) with a special bday project. Because, to reiterate, he has MANY fans who always support him. So stop living in 2012, stop believing and spreading the ridiculous and false ideas that Chen has little fans and/or feels sad that he doesn't have fans. Ugh.
