Cut of Kep1er's Xiaoting (샤오팅/沉小婷) competing with her partner Feng Yuhang (冯宇航) at the 2015 Blackpool Dance Festival in the Under 21 Ballroom with a slow foxtrot, tango, and quickstep.
In the Under 21 Ballroom Shen Xiaoting placed 50th, but she also placed 44th in Amateur Rising Star Ballroom, 80th in 2QH Amateur Rising Star Ballroom, and 123rd in 1QH Amateur Rising Star Ballroom.

Edit: Strong make up is normal within the ballroom dancing industry. It's very comparable to stage acting: you need to be seen from far away, so the makeup is designed to be viewed from a distance. As a ballroom dancer, Xiaoting really did amazing here. Her category is modern standard which is more diffocult than latin because it has many turns especially the Viennese Waltz

As a latin dancer, it's fair to say that both latin and standard ballroom are equally challenging. Her abilities as a 10dancer is great, so elegant. Body type and posture amazing for standard

And I never really got to the level she is at, but I think it's clear to see from this video and her ranking that she is an incredible dancer. She moves so elegantly and effortlessly and makes it look so natural (which is the last thing it is lol), her flow is so smooth and of course she also looks beautiful while doing it

@@emilie3645 her partner is a real asset for sure. he still ballroom dances to this day, and i wish him every success! i completely agree with you, i think while she might be still working on her "idol" dancing, it's clear from her predebut videos where she gets her fluency in technical skills. i really can't wait to see how much she'd improve if she debuts, because i genuinely think she'll be a forced to be reckoned with.

I am also a modern standard/ballroom dancer and what I can say is that Xiao Ting set aside her dreams for ballroom for the Kpop industry. I hope that all of us can appreciate that. Because the training for the Ballroom dancing is much harder than kpop training. It has standard postures and techniques. Dancing together with a partner at a very synchronized moves is harder than we thought. Go Xiao Ting!! Fighting!!
