As a young boy I remember watching the Bowery brother’s, Little Rascals and the Three Stooges. The best part of my youth. Great comedy actors.

Hey Bill, I visited the cemetery across the street last year and was planning to visit Gorcey's grave too, but I forgot they are closed on Saturday. I LOVE his headstone! Curtain opening and curtain closing. How cool. Hopefully I'll make it back up there one of these days. Thanks for the preview.

Apparently, little Louie was 4'10" tall, and his wife Josie was 4'11"... Their son Leo was a 12 lb. newborn and grew to 5'6''. Talented family, along with son, David. RIP, Gorcey clan.

Great video as always brother. I have never heard of the Bowery Boys. If I get a chance I will check it out. Thanks for documenting their story. I was in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago. I got some content of stuff I saw here on your channel. Remember , imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. You inspired me to go to some of these sights. I hope you aren't offended by me copying some of what you have done.

Have you read Leo Gorcey’s son’s book? It’s called, Me and the East Side Kid?” Believe or not, it’s an awesome study on life with an alcoholic and really a book that I enjoyed.

Thanks for the post. I am a fan of the later Bowery Boy films with Bernard and Leo Gorcey, and Huntz Hall. I have a c. 1923 shot of Bernard in some sort of cart with glamorous actress Edith Day, being driven by horses or oxen or something. They had a bet on an Army football game. Loser had to go around Manhattan in that cart. The game ended in a tie, and both had to ride in that cart. A younger Bernard had a cigar in his right hand and let Ms. Day do the talking with reporters. So Bernard was a card right from the start. Anyway, my favorite scenes were always with Bernard. Greatly missed after his unfortunate death.

"AS PLOT OUTWEIGHS SPECIAL EFFECTS" although decades before my birth, the dead end kids were a favorite, as my pop held the entire 20 years of that franchise.. very good movies from the 30's & 40's came through it, and before v.c.r. capabilities let us select our own viewing times, dad would find when they were scheduled for; and at that time, we held onto funny & richly played scenes from those yesteryears.. as the dead end kids or bowery boys (from their start up to the final days) our street gang of hooligans were very actively in the limelight through many classic .. for the few less known facts show the group entirely destroyed the sets & props, include crashing sound stages as inside, driving.. goldwyn (mgm) released them & warner bros continued their long series..!! dad had me watch these, and many others, together in the evenings (where available) & they became as if new, again - an aspect of my younger days, that has lasted for the rest of mine.. they were an amazing comedy set, from those "forties movies" of his childhood and should last through many generations..!! "regards to those fantastic & funny men.! " ~WarriorPoet~
