Well unstand why, some are particularl about replacement parts being new old stock and genuine replacement parts. Knock on wood I was able to fix my phonograph with a 3D printed gear

Hi Todd, love all your vids! I have a question about coin counters. I have a Pi setup in a cab with a coin door, and I want to hook up a coin counter I picked up (it's 12v). Coin door and everything is hooked up to zero delay USB encoders. I have a power supply that runs 12v, and tried running the negative 12v line through the coin switches in parallel to the coin counter, but then naturally when you put a quarter in, since the switches are in parallel, the game itself thinks 2 quarters were put in. How would you wire this up to a double coin door? I guess I need to keep the switches on totally independent circuits while still sending 12v to the counter if either of them are actuated. Any ideas?

Its been so many years since I did this...I do know you have to put a 1007 diode in the circuit....I just don't remember....last one we did was in 1983.

@@tntamusements Actually, the bit about the diode was very helpful, thanks! I feel like I don't want to run 12v through these microswitch circuits entirely though. The switches can probably handle it, but the USB encoders probably can't. I think one diode can block the power going through to the USB encoder, a second diode can prevent the switches from sending actuation signals through each other when in parallel. Does that sound right? Or maybe some kind of relay would be better?
