153- Quebec Canada | Visit to the Saint Roch district of the city

In this vlog discover with me the Saint Roch district of Quebec in Canada
We will walk the streets of this neighborhood up to Promenade Samuel-de-Champlain along the Saint-Charles River
This district is one of the oldest suburbs of Quebec.
It is located between Haute-Ville and the Saint-Charles River.
For a long time it was a working-class neighborhood and today it is a trendy and dynamic neighborhood where lots of young businesses come to set up shop.
You can get there via the Gare du Palais which is not far away or take the incredible Escalier Lépine
This staircase of 118 steps was designed by Charles Baillairgé in 1882
It allowed, at the time, the bourgeoisie of the upper town to come and make purchases (to “shop” as they say here) on rue Saint-Joseph which was the main commercial street in Quebec.
This street is still the main artery of the district today, it is lined with shops, bars and restaurants.
On this street is also the impressive Saint-Roch Church
At the end of the street I advise you to take a walk on the green avenue which runs along Boulevard Langelier and which is called Parc Langelier (even if it is more of an avenue than a park)
I also advise you to cross the Drouin Bridge which spans the Saint-Charles River and which is at the end of this district
Take a stroll in the “Linear Park of the Saint-Charles River” along the shore
I advise you to bring whole peanuts (with the shell) because there are a lot of squirrels
Then head towards Dorchester Bridge
If you cross it you can do the Promenade Samuel-de-Champlain on the other bank and which also runs along the river
At the end of this walk after passing under the Dufferin-Montmorency Highway, I suggest you go over it and observe an old metal bridge where an old railway line passes, there is a beautiful photo to take with it in the distance a large factory with smoking chimneys
If you are passing through this area I recommend the Boulangerie Louis Marchand on Rue Saint-Joseph Ouest

une petite demande: qui vous a suggéré de visiter le quartier Saint-Roch? Le plus malfamé de Québec, meme si depuis une vingtaine d'années on tente de le revitaliser. Qui le dit branché, mais il reste quand-meme délabré et pas très recommendable.... y'a tellement mieux à voir.

Pour tout vous avouer, j'ai pris mon hôtel dans ce quartier car il n'était pas loin de la gare ni du départ vers l'île d'Orléans que je voulais faire à vélo Ne connaissant pas bien les quartiers, j'ai réservé ici et je dois dire que j'ai été agréablement surpris Comme vous le voyez dans ma vidéo, il y a un tas de petites maisons, c'est trés agréable Je ne me suis jamais senti en insécurité

Québec est la capitale nationale de la Nation Québécoise et non du Canada !......Va falloir un jour que tu apprennes la différence entre le Canada et le Québec!?......
