@@blanky虚 I just really enjoy looking back on footage from old PS2 games. It's what I grew up with. GT4 was a huge deal at the time. There is no denying the graphics were insanely gorgeous on what is now a severely outdated system. It holds up very well even by today's standards. If my PS2 were still working I would be playing this game right now.

@@blanky虚 you're talking about Gran Turismo on the PS1? I tried getting back into that not too long ago. The graphics are wayyy too grainy and framerate is choppy. Couldn't do it. Same with GT2 which is hard to say because 20 years ago that game was unrivalled in the racing category. And to think at one point in time those games were considered cutting edge graphics. It hurts my eyes looking at it now. But Gran Turismo 3 and 4 I'll gladly revisit if given the opportunity.

If you think about it, a couple of the corners of this course are really bad places for spectators to watch in. Especially with this beast racing around. Like having to be in the outer corner section of the corner in @7:36, you'd be getting pelted with rather massive rocks from when the Escudo accelerates out of it with amount of HP it has.

In GT PSP, you can't adjust the gear ratios so the Escudo ends up in first and second gear for most of the track, suffering from tremendous turbo lag. You know the beast wants to go faster. It's a shame how watered down GT PSP is. This capture though of Grand Canyon Rally in GT4 to me is much closer to the spirit of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb than the Pikes Peak level in GT2. The way the camera pans out and gives the illusion of cars teetering on the edge of a cliff feels so much like Pikes Peak (before it was paved and before the additions of barriers) - something the PS1 couldn't quite capture. I really hope the rumours are true that Polyphony has the rights to Pikes Peak. I wish they have the classic all dirt version and the new version in GT7. It would be great to have a proper point to point Rally tracks in GT7.
