1537 Matthew's Bible

John Rogers (Thomas Matthews) combined the work of William Tyndale & Miles Coverdale with this 1537 Matthew's Bible. The Matthews Bible was the first complete English Bible to be printed in ENGLAND (previous English Bibles were illegal and had to be smuggled into England). John Rogers was also the first one murdered as Bloody Mary took the throne of England and was determined to bring England back to Rome.

Of course it was Tyndale who gave the English language the words : Jehovah, passover, congregation, atonement
