Act 2 is such a masterpiece for me. It's so dark and hostile with a singular safe harbor from all of it and this song makes that place feel as welcoming as it is.

And that nightsong scene too. The entire game we’ve seen gnolls, mindflayers, and just the most horrific creatures but this was the moment where divine good was shown so clearly to the player. We knew there was hope left

Which you can also ruin if you make the wrong choices or let the cult take Isobel. I soon learned all I did to save that place was forfeit once I encouraged Shadowheart to become a Dark Justiciar. I didn't know the consequences until too late. Nightsong tries to warn you of this too.

last light is a special place, everyone you met along your journey in act 1 coming together at the haven. Meeting the harpers and isobel. Taking shelter from the shadow curse, truly amazing.

Honestly I'm on my second playthrough and am a Durge Halfling and I can't bring myself to slay Isobel and won't stop Shadowheart from sparing Nightsong... This music, the Tieflings from the grove, and everyone else just makes it so I can't.

@@AlesMicikIn my playthrough, the same thing happened, mostly on accident, because every enemy near Isobel rolled twenties, meaning the only people that survived were either blessed or holding a torch. I didn’t save scum, and I’m glad I didn’t due to that horrible feeling you get after watching a part of a movie where something annoying and unpreventable happens. Afterwards, I was glad.

I'm so glad you said this especially the last part. I feel the same way about Last Light. It's like I've known this song forever but yet there is nothing else like it that I know of. Much of the sdtk is like that. Another is the Shadowed Battlefield camp ambient song, it's so hauntingly beautiful and feels so ancient. I get lost in it and forget what I was doing in-game lol.

This is a strong challenger for my favourite piece of video game OST ever. I don't know what it's feels like in a vacuum, but knowing the in-game context of it makes it incredible. This beautiful track reminds me of one clear image. Harper Lassandra's very first appearance with a torch in hand. Her blurry, battle weary eyes in the dim light of that torch. She was sad, tired but still had hope in her heart. One of the true, bravest leaders I've ever met in a game. That's why I kept healing her on every battle we've shared :)
