This is the full length documentary of our expedition across the wilderness of the Little North.
LITTLE NORTH chronicles a 450km canoe journey across Canada's Little North, a vast wilderness sprawling for over a million square kilometers in the northern reaches of Ontario and Manitoba. The adventure is centered on the Cat and Throat River watersheds of Northwestern Ontario. In an attempt to retrace portions of a long forgotten fur trade route, we paddle upstream on the Cat, cross the seldom travelled height of land and then descend the Throat from its headwaters to confluence.
The area is steeped in first nation use and some sections are still traveled to access hunting and fishing grounds. Other sections have been lost to the ravages of time, and retracing these historic routes is no easy task. Few travel the remote waterways that crisscross this expansive wilderness, but those who do, are rewarded with unparalleled solitude and seclusion.
This long documentary version combines the three episodes from this adventure with a few editing tweaks.

Hello, Brad (got the link from your buddy Xander to your KZbin channel)! So a very beautiful video, better than any Netflix❣💯👍👍👍! A big and warm THANK to you, sir! Greetings from Sweden! Love your way to story-telling! My childhood dream was to explore the First Nation peoples home environment! The landscape, rivers and lakes are very much alike here in Sweden up north, but Canada is so amazing in every way and in my youth I was keen on reading about the first nation Algonquin people and I imagine how it was to live outdoors in the pristine wilderness and your KZbin channel showing so beautiful and unique wilderness landscapes and the water ways that also are probably used by the ancient Indians as well! I wonder if you have seen any signs from past when you are moving along the rivers and staying at the seashores of the beautiful lakes! Sending you best regards from Sweden and may all the good things come your way with rich blessings in every way! 🙏🙏🙏

The pristine wilderness you travelled through is wonderful. However, the human side of this trip impressed me even more. It takes two special people to support each other and stay upbeat through hardships that would cause most people to descend into bickering and blaming. Leah and Brad, you are amazing!

Another brilliant documentary! I don't so much watch these wonderful films as "experience" them and in doing so gain great comfort in the knowledge that such "wildness" still exists and, better yet, young people capable of experiencing the great natural beauty while meeting the challenges still exist as well. RE the damage to your canoe you might want to try Marine Tex. It's a 2 part epoxy putty that cures to greater strength than the original material. It's a bit messy to use but cures overnight and is impervious to water. I punched a 2x3” hole in the keel of a fiberglass canoe while running a rapid and patched it with Marine Tex. Five years later when I sold the canoe the patch was as good as the day I made it.
