It is called "16 hours" because that was how long he had to make the song for the contest. The whole thing was who could make the best track in a very small amount of time. As a fellow musician I can really understand how much work and talent went into making this song in just 16 hours.

Sounds like its part of a soundtrack for a Final Fantasy game. Something you would come across while venturing into a dungeon, field, or even a town. That eerie but mysterious vibe, its so magical and alluring. Did I forgot to mention the present essence of the Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross legacy here? :) The nostalgia is intense, I love it.
