Just to get this clear. They gave up butterfly, they returned to improved scissor switch, they gave inverted T arrows, they thickened the body for thermals, the provided actual esc key, they gave one of the best screens in market, they increased base storage to 512gb and they kept the same price as of the 15 inch and they gave EARLY access to reviewers and press ? Is this Apple we’re talking about ?

I need some buying advice! Some help would be greatly appreciated! So, my 2015 13” mbp’s display broke just a few days ago, which is really unfortunate because I was waiting for Apple to drop the inevitable 14” mbp! My requirements are 16gb of ram and 512GB of storage. Should I get the current 13” model with upgrades for ~2500€ or shell out an extra 200€ for the new 16” baseline, which has a bigger display, a better battery and a much better processor + thermal performance. I really enjoy the portability of the 13”, so I am a bit apprehensive to having to lug around a giant slab of metal. Or is the 16” not that impractical in everyday life? What would you have me do? Get the old 13” model or the much better but clunkier 15” one? Because I really can’t tough out with just an ipad until summer or whenever Apple sees it fit to grace us with the 14” mbp!

I went to my local Best Buy, and they had a 16 inch MacBook Pro. I am in awe of this powerful laptop. I love that the escape and the touch ID keys are separate from the touch bar, and the keys themselves are great. The speakers are awesome, everything else except that the camera is only 720 instead of 1080 p, and no Face ID, that would be really nice. It didn't have the 10th Generation processor so it is not WiFi 6, but it did have Bluetooth 5.0. You can max up the processor, the ram, the video (adding 4 more GB of video ram for a total of 8) and up to 8 TB of SSD. And much better cooling. I also love that the price of the base didn't go up as much as I expected or rumored to be ($3,000, it was lower). I also found a nice docking station for the MacBooks which has extra ports, like some Type A, Type C, HDMI, SD Slots, network port, and a display port. This Docking station was $109.99 not to bad a price. Also, want to get a Bluetooth numeric keypad and an LG Blue-ray reader/writer so I can watch or make my own blue-ray videos. I would also get that software so that I can put Windows on it for my Office 365 which includes Access and Publisher). This MacBook has more power than the Windows PC's. I rarely even seen one that has a 1TB SSD, let alone 2, 4 or 8 TB SSD. More Ram 32 GB or 64 GB options that I don't see often. They really catered to the Creators on this MacBook. Bigger screen and still not too big to carry around, and not too heavy either. I am pretty pleased with this MacBook Pro. Now the Windows PC Makers will have some major competition.

Thanks for the video. Question for the in-depth analisis: For editing video on PREMIERE1080p. What configuration would be optimal? Would the 13 inch MacBook Pro suffice? What advantages would the 16inch one have. And what configuration would be on that?

I like how my 15" MBP late 2013 looks more modern again since the release of the 16".

I do wish they'd put the SD slot back in... I don't mind moving to USB-C only, but being able to load media from SD (even microSD would be okay) without an external reader would be nice.

The noise cancelling does a great job. You can really hear the difference compared to your normal mic .. I was just going go complement you on doing some room treatment ... but now I know that it was the new mics that did the job for you ;) . P.S. Please do some room treatment where you do your podcast recording! The little bare-walled office sound makes us crazy! Some inexpensive broadway panels (purchased or home made) go a loooooong way.

René: speed vs. depth of reporting = stellar. Thank you so much! I am curious to ask you… from your pristine video, I believe I am detecting some light leaking from individual keys on the keyboard. I ordered a 16" MacBook Pro, but that would be a dealbreaker for me. Can you please confirm whether this is happening, or it's a mere artifact in the videography…

@@IAmTimBaker YES, thank you. I always wonder, WTH is he laughing at? Just makes me wish someone else was given this product to review other than him.

I love his reviews. He’s obviously smart and passionate. But the fake laughing just seems so forced. Just stick to the facts and your knowledge and we’ll be fine. 😊
