LIGHT is the first of three full-length volume of re-imagined Kingdom Hearts music. The album includes 22 rich, fully-orchestrated pieces of music based on the original in-game score, spanning Kingdom Hearts I and II, 358/2 Days, and Dream Drop Distance.
FOREWORD:
Project Destati is a celebration of the rich musical score of the Kingdom Hearts games. The aim of our project is to capture the depth, intensity, and magnitude of Yoko Shimomura’s brilliant compositions that have brought Kingdom Hearts to life over the past decade. Her famous melodies have carried millions of players from the humble start of Sora’s story through the most recent installments of the Kingdom Hearts story.

I listened to the theme of Lazy Afternoon in high school. I saw Roxas with his friends. And I realized this would be the closest I'd ever have to a childhood. Looking at the normal life I could never have, I couldn't keep myself together, but I played because it was *something*. And then I got to day 6. And then I had nothing again.

Everyone calling 02:04 Sora's theme, nobody remembers poor Ventus. That's a part of Ventus' theme Sora "inherited" but it's too slow, it specifically has the stronger shift in tone. It's beautiful, though, because to me it's both the lingering feeling of Roxas' identity and the last bits of Ventus before it transitions into a whole new song and identity. I guess in a way it's both of their theme.

I’ve been binging on these arrangements(I literally just discovered this channel) and coming across this one made me realize just how much thought goes into these. Something as simple as the transitions make this less of a musical composition and more of a story, and I absolutely love how smoothly it all blends together! -I even noticed how Sora’s Twilight Town theme has some of Roxas’ in the background. I don’t recall if that’s how the actual song already is, but I think that was a neat touch nonetheless.-

Sweet lord, that harmonica... right in the ever-loving feels :') So fun fact; in the original Gameboy Advance track for Twilight Town in Chain of Memories, they used a harmonica sound in place of the flute that you hear in Lazy Afternoon in KH 2. That makes this rendition of Lazy Afternoon closer to the original version. Now, that might not mean much to some, but for someone like me, who paradoxically played the original GBA Chain of Memories before any other game in the series, it makes the nostalgic feels doubly intense and wonderful ;)
