You'll find that the statement may be somewhat true, half a cup of carrots may well contain enough caratone for your body to convert into 73% of your daily dose of vitamin A, but the carrots themselves contain no vitamin A at all. I study nutrition in regards to feeding animals, it's widely accepted that feeding carrots, or other vegetables high in caratone, to the animal or it's prey is better than using a vitamin A supplement as the animal's body (and ours) will only convert enough caratone to provide the exact needed amount of vitamin A, whereas a supplement is hit and miss, you can easily overdose or underdose which can cause problems with absorption of other vitamins and minerals. Look it up properly and you'll soon see. :)

I can vouch for the honey one, I live in a hot, humid climate and honey in the cupboard, if not sealed properly for a while gets dots of blue mould with white edges.
