There WAS a zombie. Was = Used to have/be. Which means its no longer present in that area. 3. In the burning hot desert, you can just walk at night. 4. Go to the lions place and travel at night when the lon is sleeping, so you can walk away somewhere else. 5. You didn't necessarily say where the aligator is. It may be in a pond 13 km's away. You can just keep walking. And, I'm pretty sure humans are faster than aligators.

Alligators can actually survive without food for three years. The riddle said that there was, a zombie. Was, is a word you use for something that happened in the past. There is also a possibility that the third door is safe. A lion can survive without food for one week, sometimes two. I'm not sure if they kept the lion hydrated or not, but a lion can only survive without water for 3 or 4 days. This comment is edited because I accidentally submitted it early by the way.

Another solution to the 4 litre jug was to fill the 5 litre jug using the 3 litre jug which will leave you with 1 litre on the 3litre jug. Empty the 5 litre, pour the 1litre in the 5 and fill the 3 litre jug and add it to the 5litre jug= 4 litres.
