How refreshing and thoroughly entertaining to watch such beautiful old classics being used as they were intended, rather than hermetically sealed in an air-conditioned garage simply wasting its time away. Also special mention must go to the insanity of racing Minis and Cortinas alongside Galaxies (I think 😉) what a spectacle! You could almost fit a Mini in the boot of one of those Galaxies!
I had watched one of these races yesterday and was amazed at the balls to the wall racing in very very very expensive classic cars.

Those that are original race cars and not "recreations", have pretty surely already had their share of body damage repairs. Damage and breaking stuff are an part of trying to win in racing. Like Mario Andretti are quoted for once saying: "If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough."
@cromulentpotato2 ай бұрын
once a car is valuable enough, it's impossible to destroy. Rowan Atkinson crashed his F1 twice, burned it once, and still came out ahead. accidents in even more valuable cars hardly register. plus many unobtanium cars have an exact replica that is transferred behind the scenes when the real car changes hands.

Wow, talk about billy-big-b4lls, amazing stuff boys. One small bit of feedback , a lot of expensively bent tin could be saved by fitting DECENT SIZED WING MIRRORS ! Modern ones are not asthetically pleaseing at all, granted, but for racing like this you need to know whats coming up behind you, and wont do that with mirrors the size of a powder puff, or not fitted at all. Thats madness. ! Just fit them for racing, take them off when displaying. I would.
