I'd be interested to discuss HOW wizards create new spells. Is it just a lot of visualization of what you want to happen, and practice over and over again channeling your magical aura into your wand? I always wondered HOW the weasley's invented their joke candy
@ValseInstrumentalist2 жыл бұрын
I like to think it involves rituals and symbolism. Like the stars, planets, and moon need to be aligned and you need lots of magical objects and symbols to bind meaning into the spell you're creating. And you chant the spell in your language of your choice (obviously Latin for most British and other European wizards throughout history) bringing all these things together with immense focus until the spell is magically sewn into a new lexicon.

@@ValseInstrumentalist Such a process is similar to how one would become an animagus only few spells if any require the crafter to drink a potion.

Oh yeah would love a part two, especially since I know Hermione was well on her way to making her own spells. Heck, she'd already altered an existing spell, the Protean Charm. And I would be surprised if Luna Lovegood hadn't done some experimenting as well. We know her mother had.

Fantastic video. I always wondered why Harry didn't use the elder wand and reparo to start fixing Hogwarts after the second wizarding war. I just tried to soothe my frustration with the thought that maybe reparo wouldn't work on a building or perhaps not on a large building. Now after finding out it was created to repair the Colosseum has just frustrated me all over again at his lack of concern for the repairing Hogwarts 😂 Also I'd love to see this become an entire series as opposed to two videos 😳😂
@robertmartin44492 жыл бұрын
No one uses “reparo” cause Filtch was cleaning the rubble up with his broom. ;)
@Bballfan19922 жыл бұрын
I think it probably had to do with him not caring anymore. He sacrificed everything for the war. He literally gave his own life. He was done. He was tired. And more than likely suffered hundreds of nightmares watching so many dead bodies around after the final battle. I think he was simply done. The castle was done for school term to start, so clearly it was done with relative ease between so many people.
@jawstrock22152 жыл бұрын
I think reparo doesn't work on magical object, and certainly does not on damage from dark magic curses.

I'm not so sure the Avada Kedavra curse actually killed Albus. Unforgivable curses only work if you mean them. Snape didn't mean it and I think that's why the color was different similar to how Harry's Cruciatus Curse didn't work, and it was also the wrong color. The spell didn't kill him but it was enough to knock him off the astronomy tower. I imagine Albus would have considered this and that's why he stood where he did to ensure that he died. I believe the fall is what actually killed him.

I like how you, unlike other Harry Potter channels, include things from Hogwarts Mystery as well. The books are, of course, the primary canon, so things that contradict the books, like Charlie not winning the Quidditch cup, for example (I've won it for Hufflepuff every year so far), can't be canon. But as long as there is no conflict, I think that things like these mentioned here can definately have their place.

Part 2, with a part 3 how you imagine spells are created. Do people need Aritmancy (spelled wrong)? In the book setting I also would assume the right gesture, like, every spell has it's own energy flow pattern. It's to bad that besides Wingardium Leviosa there's no gesture structure for the spells.

I think people gave Snape too much credit for creating spells. Witches and wizard do that all the time. The Marauder's map probably was created using some new or unkown charms, and the weasley twin really put some strange enchantment on their products, that even Hermione did not know. Besides, it's safe to say that not all spells in the book of Snape was invented when he was a student, and not everything in that book was his idea (it could be from someone else and he just write there for reference). There's a patent office in the ministry, and of course it full of newly invented spells/magical objects.
@mrdr01612 жыл бұрын
Because Snape single-handedly made a dark curse at the age 15 or 16. There were 4 marauders. There were 2 twins. He was on his own in making multiple and some dark curses

@@macwelch8599 I get what you're saying but most of the spells are created out of necessity. Like Voldermort is not wasting his time developing healing spells, because he knows nothing will touch him like that and if it does it will be something that will just outright kill him; hence looking for immortality. The same goes for most of the top wizards, healing is usually more about others rather than yourself if you are a powerful wizard.

If a non human creature wielded a wand could they produce human magic?
@Bballfan19922 жыл бұрын
I’m 99% sure that’s a no. A wand itself doesn’t hold magic. It channels it from the caster, and acts as a focus point. Almost like a laser pointer. Just like a muggle can’t produce magic just because they have a wand. Theirs no magic in it. So even if a house elf was to use one, the wand would only channel the source, which in this case would be elf magic. It doesn’t produce its own magic.
