That was a fun tactical matchup. The music sweetening by the editor is brilliant!

At first, I couldn’t appreciate these games because I felt like the old guys were giving the games away to the younger kids. But after learning the game for a while, they are really just trying to get them to a place to think. And I found myself being that 9 year old kid trying to figure out the best move. And to see those two go at it, around the same age group, you can see the development, and I can see my game being close to theirs (and I’m 26). GG to the both of them. I’m loving the Coffee Chess community!

At 14 yrs Gabriel just plowed through the whole coffee chess gang, being finally stopped only by Duck. Now he's struggling. Of course, Noah here is an excellent player himself.

To be fair he's mostly an slow chess player, no blitz or rapid and at slow chess he was losing rating points in FIDE rated tournaments, he peaked at 14 with an impressive 2172 FIDE rating, from 14 to 16 years of age he got knock down to an still impressive 1988 pre-covid and at the last tournament he went up to 2019.

Noah is great player, I was wondering why he didn't take that pawn earlier with his knight
@Dunsie3 жыл бұрын
I mean. I'm just some rando on the internet but I believe his knight doesn't do a lot on B4. His influence is needed in the center to at some point help un-stuck his bishop? Just some thoughts.
@Thevillage283 жыл бұрын
Because his knight would be pin because of his rook with the move bishop to a3

Noah needed to keep his queen after he opened up the white king.
@Carrinthe3 жыл бұрын
I think the Queen trade was good for him, his king was very vulnerable with the black queen still on the board. And with two pieces for the rook he should always be better in the endgame.

Great game , very enjoyable , Noah sacking his bishop and knight for a rook , thought was very brave. He almost pulled it off
@robertehrenworth33102 жыл бұрын
Wder if instead of sacking immediately, if first b5 protecting the knight & setting up Bxa3, gxa3, Qxa3 threatening mate on b2 was better.
