I still have my 3d printed hidden blade I ordered from you almost 10 years ago. Sadly it's fallen apart now but it's fascinating seeing how far you've come, perhaps one day I will order one of you more up-to-date designs as a display piece.

Buying something like this and keeping it as a display piece has got to be a crime

Fascinating. Basically a cross bolt safety, and roller locks. Common solutions in firearms design too. Good work

you actually told us how it works in FB by a picture and an explanation from the rachet mechanism but seeing it in video is really mind blowing...thank you for letting us copy your designs for free ..i was following you ever since you only used wood and super glue.. then 3d prints, plastic molds and now the metals thank you for making it possible to make a metal hidden blade that is not hard to pull and retract

The mechanisms are extraordinary!

From a mechanical point of view, this hidden blade is probably the best you've ever made, your knowledge of these mechanisms is incredible and this piece is extremely beautiful to look at. On the other hand, your hidden blades have become increasingly larger due to the complex mechanisms you have created and they are less and less hidden. It would be cool to see a hidden blade from you focused on size reduction but with performance and firing reliability of the mechanism.

i think for now, this is the best in both mechanism and size, looking at how "hidden" the ones in the game looked, i'd say this model's size and thickness is really similar with the one Desmond used, and he didn't use any kind of way to hide the blade itself

Magnífica! Beautiful work as always. If you had that in hardened plastic, I’d swoop the entire stock up! The best model I’ve seen yet.

I have tried to make a hidden blade with a pulley system, but what a surprise I was when I discovered the amount of force that must be applied to the rope, so that the weight of the blade is transferred to a small movement of the finger, I consider that the Viable ways are to make the sheets very thin, light and fragile or use electric motors. I also make leaves but with the means of someone poor, like Tony Stark at Walmart xD

One of these days i want to see 100% game accurate versions for all of the hidden blades. Your designs are perfect and look like they could have been pulled right from the games and concept arts itself. I think you'd be able to take that miniaturized pully design and incorporate the visible springs and make the syndicate hidden blade. And be accurate to it without the large winding spring on the back. Either way i'd love to see what you do next.

How strong is the string? Like say if you stabbed a wall would it snap instantly? If so you could look into using Kevlar

The fact this really is how the hidden blade looks to work 100% on the concept art is AMAZING to me. The only way you cpuld improve this design (it's perfect tho) is to make the base housing shorter, make it 3 tiered, (like the ither ezio hidden blade concept art) and have that one part of the casing/housing move like in the art. The altair casing is similar in that way aswell ahere it has 3 tiers. I could imagine that's possible by reducing the lengths of the firsr and second, applying the same mechanism the blade is using and just apply it to the blade tiers. Go for that visual perfection. Either way no one else comes even close to your designs.

0:34 it looks that sometimes the blade is stuck and can't finishing the movement, why?

As he doesn't mind answering potential buyers, I'll answer it for you. This hidden blade model of his works by friction, it makes 20 cycles, 10 out and 10 back. When these cycles end the next time the blade is no longer ejected completely. I honestly prefer his previous model, having to apply friction is not practical at all.
