Thank you Matt, for being a such a good dude and letting Jake video tree work, so he can share it with us. Between this outfit and August Hunicke, y'all represent the tree industry very well and show what a true leader of a company is. I wish for nothing but continued success for your company! Thank you Sir! Great job as always Jake! Love the new intro! Thank you for sharing this with us!

Jake, it is great having that type of boss who supports you in doing these videos. You give us a nice view of what the work entails and the way your guys go about doing it. My thought on it is that it would also cover you guys on an insurance basis incase something went wrong, you would have documentation on what happened.

Yinz should do a "Guilty of Treeson reacts to tree felling videos on KZbin." There are loads of videos about people who fell trees onto houses, cars, etc. I think it would make a great video. Maybe point out what they did wrong or common mistakes. Love your videos and keep doing what you're doing.

Having spent the last few hours falling down the youTube rabbit hole: I love your content. It's super cool that the owner is supportive of the channel (I work construction and will be throwing out your company's name when we come across a sketchy tree). Your videos are packed with great information and although I'll probably never climb a tree with a spinning saw of death, I have learned a TON about the process. Now I know why it's so expensive to get a tree removed, and it makes perfect sense. Can't tell you how many times I've tensed up watching, in your videos, a limb kick back or a shift when weight is removed. Great content, keep it up and BE SAFE!

One second of lapsed judgement by myself and the younger kid I had in the water tower with me and now at 37 I am filing for disability. 7 Spine surgeries, another coming up this month and I need another on my neck desperately. I can't walk up the stairs, let alone clime a tower or tree. Be safe, while it's a super fun job, it also has extreme risks to your health. I pray disability comes in pretty quick, otherwise we will lose our house.

That top anchor point at 22:40 is my nightmare. You can't see how good it is until you get up there, and by that time you've already accepted the risk. I wrap the anchor end around the trunk, with the hope that if the top limb breaks, the line will tend to fall inside and catch the next branch. Even so, you fall twice the distance to the next limb, and arborist ropes are not made for taking a significant fall (not enough stretch).

Caleb mentioned, the job is dangerous... obviously.... but is the danger human error, like not wearing proper safety gear, inattention, like not inspecting the branch properly & accidentally putting full weight on rotten branches, tossing a branch down unannounced or despite poor line of sight & hitting someone or s.th. below, Lack of planning, Rushing, like cutting off larger than ideal sections, or?

Hey Jake! I've been watching more or less all of your videos (and im not even close to being an arborist, I work in IT). I really enjoy your videos, let me just say. However, just some constructive criticism; Sometimes it works because the idea is simple. Your videos were simple, the crew are awesome and "simple", the work is interesting yet pretty simple to understand. I like that you are putting in some more effort, but dont steer away from the simple things. You have a lot viewers like me, who does not work in this field, that just wants to see you chopping down a big fudging tree with good guys and maybe the occasional guitar riff. Keep doing what you do, greetings from Sweden! :)

Haven’t gotten past 21:59 timestamp or checked for any comments so if this has been addressed I wouldn’t know at this point but please remove the Velcro covering the windless from the TQ. As he mentioned it’s a dangerous job and an arterial bleed can deal you out quickly. Unless there’s something about climbing trees that makes leaving it covered more optimal/safer over all for your particular position, it being covered will render the TQ useless until its removed allowing the windless to be operated. Sweaty, bloody, sap covered hands will make that all the more difficult to remove when you need it most, not to mention the adren dump and panic. Be safe guys love the vids and hope you never need to use that info.

i love how america goes full tourniquet while it feels the rest of the world is moving away. from a discussion on other channels, i get the gist that especially "non plugged puncture wounds" are seemingly so bad, they need those. i learned in my multiple medic lessons, a good bandage / compression bandage with a nice piece of rolled up gauze can literally stop any vessel in the body if applied correctly. though i think thats the other strong point of the tourniquet. its nearly idiot proof, though it might have more damage potential.
@cliveramsbotty60773 жыл бұрын
As is often the case it was a lesson learned from trauma in war. Most of the world had already moved away from tourniquet because of the perceived risk to limbs affected by lack of blood supply due to tourniquet pressure, until the Afghan conflict prompted a return to tourniquet as it was found that a catastrophic bleed was far more life threatening than a lack of blood supply to body parts downstream. So long as the period of time the tourniquet is on for is monitored then the risks are acceptable. You can still apply one first before tending to the wound in a more sophisticated manner as you mention. That's my take on it anyway, I'm no expert.
@batmantiss3 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, the TQ is carried in the case of a cut from a chainsaw. Pressure bandages are great, but a laceration from a chain saw is far from neat and tidy. Especially when you're providing self-aid, and someone may have to harness up and climb the tree to rescue you.
