The TEK IC. This reminds me when I first started in design, before I joined the company they had tried and kept failing to do their own in house log- antilog signal processing, to save huge costs of buying readymade modules. The potted modules they bought in were expensive and difficult for a reason, the circuits inside them were incredibly difficult to get to work properly, not drift with temperature and to maintain calibration over life. They weren't going to give away their secrets for free.

This PCB looks much later on, the 80s when got all integrated into a single DIL chip "TEK"

@@ScandalousPepe the "TEK" IC is the most interesting part on the whole board. In Design there's "make vs. buy" compromise, at one time when PCBs 'featured' Linear Technology parts instead of Fairchild/AD/National it was because the designer was swayed more by LT's marketing.

The "little squiggly thing" is Zener.
@IMSAIGuy Жыл бұрын
the artwork would lead you to think it was a Zener, but my experience is that the layout guy did not have a fancy Schottky diode symbol. can't imagine a circuit with four Zeners.

In the 80s PCB layout software had clunky graphics. Easy to confuse a schottky for a zener

Because analog negative film could tolerate large exposure errors, logarithmic amplifiers compressed it to a point where the software could determine where was the interesting information. I think some printers of this era made multiple passes to get the print exposure correct.

That Hamlin DIP part is a reed relay

Can you check your mic/audio settings? I only ever get audio out of the right channel on your videos.

I tried to get more efficient with my video editing and made a master file with all my normal settings. each time I use this file as a starting point. many videos later, someone pointed out the 50% pan to right. Oh no.... I had made a bunch of videos with this new master file and it would be too much work to go back and re-do each file. So much for efficiency 😕

I'm attempting survey and harvesting on 2005 pcb. I have to magnify to get part numbers because 95% is smd pieces. :-(

5:42 Zener rather than Schottky? Great explore as usual, thanks! :)

Create a print was a kiosk for prints up to 30x40cm - at least its version i've seen in my country.

The PCB edge connecter looks a bit like S100 but I suspect it isn't

relays? Hamlin made little relay ics like that iirc
