This has "My friend is an engineer he said he can fix it" written all over it. Being on 4.50 that is pretty rare and worth quite a bit (not for much longer with the upcoming jailbreak for up to 7.6x though).

Seeing the state of that console I felt a bit sick (LOL) but the success of the repair was an effective antiemetic. Great job but I am kind of sceptical about the WiFi module. Perhaps one day you could try it on another board for fun. 😊

I did go to a small community college to study electronics where I earned an Associates Degree. After that, I worked 28 years for a local television station an an engineer. I still work in a related filed. Electronics have always been a hobby of mine and not just a job. I enjoy it and I am constantly working on things. The more your do, the more you learn.

Thank you! I have worked on some X-Box One S but I've only worked on one Series X. I don't know much about them. I should probably give it a try. I started out working on PS4s and I just kind of stuck with Play Stations.

Great work. However, reflowing the Wi-Fi and SSD controllers might resolve the error since no short was detected. I think the motherboard may have experienced mechanical bending, which could have caused the solder joints on the ICs to break.

What size wire is used for anchor points?

The anchor points are through-hole resistor leads that were cut and collected from another project. I have several small drawers of them and they work well for me.

This could be a RAM problem. All the RAM would likely need to be replaced.

Im surprised the WiFi chip worked. You had one pad with only one solder ball. Might fail in the future. Nice fix though. Started from a pile of junk.

I thought the same thing and rewatched it, that pad loads with solder before the second ball melts, they look even when melted too.

They don’t make them like they used too (ps4) I just think I killed a slim, EDM 040, think I shorted something after testing voltages after watching computer booted and think I might help by seeing what’s going on in the particular circuit of a SBV chip, anyway no I got the 2nd Blod, probably killed the APU. 💩 happens, such is life.
