When so many question Christian's commitment to his relationship with Olli, let us not forget that he had to face more change when he faced and acknowledged his love for Olli than Olli had to for him. What had been his truth up to that point, no longer was truth. And once he did, he was willing to face the world with his love. Olli was the cautious one. This, to me, is the power of the storyline and that which many can identify with. Let us give Christian credit for that, shall we?

@Keyjeyno Thore said this in a German interview when he was talking about his doubts about whether he could play a gay man convincingly since he never had. He also said that you never know what's in you until it's tested & that if he had any same sex attraction then he would certainly be drawn to Jo because of his talent & how much he enjoyed working with him. I don't recall his having said anything about Jo's being "hot" & he made it clear that he wasn't attracted to Jo sexually.

I see a lot of people asking about there being four rings instead of two - I saw the pictures from this episode on the Verbotene Liebe site, and I think they cut a few scenes. In the pictures we actually see them holding up two rings each and laughing, and also both wearing two rings. I think we were originally meant to get an explanation for the extra rings, but for some reason, the producers or whatever chose not to include these scenes. Disappointed... Maybe next episode? Here's hoping! ;-)

Now that the drama in the Chrolli is gone, I feel relaxed. I think that many straight people don't understand the value in hopes like this. I started watching the storyline because it was simply two men falling in love. No limp-wrist nor any stereotype really involved. Just pure love, and that they married showed that gay men don't have to lie around just because they're gay. They can enter long-term relationships, just like any straight couple can.

@coldmemories1 You can watch Verbotene Liebe on Das Erste. Since it is a German TV channel it is in German and no subtitles. It´s there in the Mediathek about the same time as it is in German TV. If you are only interested in Rebecca and Miriam, you could try the YT search because there at least used to be those videos too.

@bijoutje yeah, the ending was a little random and it did feel a bit rushed as a story. Also as others have pointed out, the fact the registrar didn't know who he was marrying, or at the very least that it was two men, plus the whole "oh you guys can be our witnesses if you're not busy!" thing made it all feel a bit half-hearted in how it was written. Still, they're married and it was a lovely video, even if it could've been done a lot better.

The quote I was referring to didn't say anything about "as an actor." What he said, literally, was, "Sometimes it's good to change the partners. Always to have the same partner it's kind of boring." So, while he didn't speak specifically about sex, he did suggest changing partners. Then Jo got the sad face, the fans reacted, etc.

I think we just have to put the last year behind us, keep in mind that it's a soap, i.e. doesn't always make sense in a logical world, and enjoy Chrolli as best we can from now.

Christian & Olli have finally realized that they can't be happy without each other, but how are they going to be happy WITH each other until they have honest dialogue about their feelings, why what happened happened, & what they need from each other going forward? The writers have never let either of them have much self-insight & it's time for that.

The writers did serious damage to the personalities & character of Christian & Olli (Christian as a vindictive serial cheater & Olli as a psycho bitch). Once the newness of this rekindled romance wears off & they settle in to Christian's new "lifestyle" those old problems could easily resurface & extinguish the flames. The problems need to be resolved & the (cont'd.)

It's such a shame there was so much bad writing for Christian this last year, it's like the current writers are trying to fix it, but don't really know how. They could at least have had Olli and Christian mention in a "by the way" type of way that the two of them had had a long talk about everything and sorted it out. That way it would make more sense them moving on, and the writers wouldn't have to write the actual scene (that would, in all fairness, be a pretty darn loooong scene, hehe).

There are differences in areas such as inheritance, taxes, etc. It's more like civil unions in the U.S. where you usually have some, but not all, of the same rights & responsibilities as full marriage. I would have expected Germany to be a little more advanced than that, especially since Spain, a heavily Catholic country, managed to legalize full marriage for same sex couples.

People are flawed beings. We make mistakes, some horrible. Fortunately, we have the capacity to learn from those mistakes and we have the capacity to forgive. Equally important, we have the capacity to recognize what is ultimately important and what is or is worrth fighting for. If there is any merit to this 8 month break up storyline, it is that realization. Once again, focusing on the topic and not the fact that the characters are gay. I have not met the perfect person yet.

The whole situation was messed up.... But I think there is no question of both of their commitments to each other. And they are moving beyond it. Given that the writers do not appear to want to have an episode that has them discussing the problems of the past, what are they to do?

@Barclay4456 As I recall the 8 months, it was actually Christian that continuously begged for forgiveness and tried repeatedly to get back with Olli. He also came clean with Olli about "what could have happened with J" even though he had no recollection. He did not just get found out. It seems that many of the viewers can forgive infidelity if it is with a man, but find it to be the ultimate betrayal if it is with a woman. Olli flaunted his in C's face. If they can forgive?

@WkElvis It is very unclear as to whether sex actually took place between J and C or J and A. In fact, there have been many subtle indications that J was about to come clean on that. See op 133. It has always set bad with me the whole taking a picture thing. It sets right there with the false rape claim. As for the "affair" with Theresa, they were separated and that falls into the same category as all the encounters by Olli during that timeframe. Pretty soon J will be an Olivia

@jarabaa lol it's filmed 3 months in advance so really it's October.I was laughing at the amount of smoke in the cabin,it's amazing no one suffered smoke inhalation.I love Chrolli & VL always make me smile, the mistakes they get away with that most other soaps would get crucified for,again the editing 2.48 christian lowers his blindfold to his lap, 2:51 he is raising it again, 2:54 it is nowhere to be seen as it is on his lap again. Every episode there are mistakes but it just makes me smile

When the storyline started to split them up, I was disappointed, sad, raging even, because that gave the signal that gay men can't have longterm relationships. I say it gives the signal, because you can make it be a single case, but it implies a general since this is broadcast worldwide. Thus I'm relaxing again now since they're back and doing it over again. The TV company must have heard our complaints...

Solution to the four rings: Both Olli & Christian thought they were planning a surprise wedding and so each brought two rings. I'm guessing that the "hilarious" scene where they had a mock argument over which rings to use was then cut from the show.

the boys are married again, yay!!!!!!!!! BUT wth, if the next ep is on Jan 13th, we don't get a wedding night ep, what is the point in that????!!!!!!!!!! Or see them put the rings on each other :(

I've been noticing on KZbin recently that often replies to comments aren't actually connected to the comments but show up elsewhere. I find this very confusing & annoying.

Well I believe they both showed up with a set of rings so decided to wear both pairs. The scene has been either cut or will be shown perhaps in the next episode???

@andypetuk Possibly, but Christian thought they were celebrating their anniversary in Schneiders, and who of those present there would marry them? Charlie? Luca? Jessica...? ;-) And when did Christian give the guy in the cabin his rings? I think it was a strange place to cut the scenes, didn't they know people would wonder about the extra rings?
