I do have a question though. I've been watching a few other channels rebuilding Data East games. One was rebuilding a hook and the other one was rebuilding a Star trek 25th anniversary pinball machine. And somehow both machines have empty cans screwed to the bottom of the cabinet? And we're wondering what's up with the cans? And was that just only a Data East thing? Just curious.
@tntamusements3 жыл бұрын
Those are actually not a can...its a baffle that is open in the bottom to let air pass through...to help with the bass from the speaker! So you can see right through to the bottom of the game!
@memyopinionsche66103 жыл бұрын
But the empty cans were not attached to the speaker holes. The Star trek 25th anniversary restore was on the channel pinball shenanigans.. And the hook restore was on Joe's classic arcade repair.. Two different Data East games with empty cans. At two different times. And none of those cans was part of the speaker hole at the bottom of the cabinet. That's really the part that's confusing me.. including the other channel pinball shenanigans.. Clearly Joe's classic arcade repairs never noticed it.. I'm willing to go to Gary Stern himself. To ask about those empty cans.. Or just blame the Illuminati.. or Mandela effect. But really two different Data East pinball machines both having empty cans screwed at the bottom of the cabinet.. The question I asked did you ever rebuild a Data East Pinball machine with empty can screwed at the bottom of a cabinet.. That's not part of the speaker assembly? Just asking and still curious. Those cans were not apart of those speaker holes.. More like near the coin door or the button that gives you one player or two player when you pay into the pinball machine.. or close to the plunger.. Someone suggested it may be part of a ticket assembly to give tickets for winning players.. But I kind of disagree because pinball machines never gave tickets compared to skill games in Dave & Buster's for dispensing tickets I've never seen a Pinball machine dispense tickets if you win. Compared to a skill games.. And there's not a hole for that ticket mechanism to dispense the tickets. In the front of the cabinet. I'm not trying to be an a****** or whatever.. But it's so weird and confusing and got my curiosity going.. With the bizarre scenario.

Data East starting I think with Robocop, screwed a small cardboard BOX to the bottom and inside were spare parts--a couple coils, drop targets, rubbers, bulbs, posts...---a care package that STAYED in the bottom of the game so the Mechanic could get parts out to fix issue...then parts were supposed to go BACK into that box later....this way replacement targets were present could be installed on the spot...it was a great idea....I never remembered a CAN though...I only saw that small BOX big enough to fit drop targets in and some parts. AND that round "baffle" went near the speaker....that was also there...I just looked in a Star Trek 25th we are restoring and the hole is there but no round baffle anymore.
