It's been a while since my last video, I hope this was worth the wait! I'm experimenting with a new format. My Let's Plant vlog will now be mainly my chance to tell a story. It is not meant to be a reference or a guide. It's more like a documentary. If guides or quick references are what you want, I'll work on separate video formats for that where I am more concise and direct to the point.

This made my day haha, I was struggling to find the right voice. Figured I needed something less strained so I recorded that voiceover in the middle of the night while the kids were sleeping. That way I had to force myself to speak slowly/calmly. 😂

Chuck!!! It is so good to see you again!! Your garden looks magnificent and I love the nature-documentary-vibe of this video! You talking about the cycle of life and various plants participating in a relay race made me tear up.... And your comparison between aeoniums and rose bushes - that was quite something! I will grow a succulent over a rose any day - talk about fussy! The aeonium blooms are so huge and amazing!!!

Chuck, please create a video that "shows" the varieties that are dormant in hard summer and dormant in strong winters. It would be so helpful! The named lists are not as helpful when we do not know what we have and find it difficult to distinguish between an echeveria and graptoveria, graptopetalum, etc.

Have you considered about getting your soils/pebbles in bulk from the likes of ANL? It could be a lot cheaper than getting from bunnings as you use them a lot?

Everything you have is stunning. How do you get them to grow so big???? I want to do this. All of my succulents (I have many you have) but they’re small. Tell me your secret! I can’t plant them in the ground because we’re renting. So I have to rely on pots. I’d love it if you would do a video on this. I am personally attached to my plants. I want to nurture them, see them grow!!!!

I hope you will work on a new Video featuring pollination of echeveria flowers and growing echeveria from seeds. I think you have gathered more experience since your last videos on this topic. For example I still have no idea if I have successfully pollinated a flower and I have no idea how I should plant the seeds indoors with limited air flow. I have a hard time finding more information on this and hope that you will work on such a video. I also hope that you figured out what you want to do since you were made redundant at your last job.
@Cerriscapades4 жыл бұрын
Thanks man. That sounds like a good topic, I'll put that on the menu. As for work, I'm recharged enough to feel creative, but not yet charged enough to want to work. I'm planning to give myself until the end of November before I start looking for jobs. I feel like once I get working on a few videos, I will start missing work even more haha!

Have only just discovered your channel and I am already addicted. What is the name of the plant with the beautiful light purple flowers surrounding the agave?
@Cerriscapades4 жыл бұрын
That's a Delosperma cooperi. I said Mesembryanthemum cooperi in the video, but that is the old name and has been deprecated. I guess I just got used to the mesemb genus name haha! Force of habit.

Hi from Perth. 🙂👋🏽 I love the slow pan for this video. I have that same orange flowering succulent groundcover. It was so vivid at the start of spring. Does it need trimming back after flowering or just remove the spent flowers please? ( I’m still fairly new to succulent growing, started last year in February & stilll learning )

Great that you’re back. 1 wish: I’m on meds. your meditation/narrative voice actually got me to doze off. Could you please revert to prior videos-type to voice? Be there & talk to us instead of reading a script. Personally I’m NOT interested in a documentary. Documentaries could be on a separate channel? or please label so please can skip those if they wish.
@Cerriscapades4 жыл бұрын
Hi Dominique, that's a fair criticism and I agree. This type of format is not for everyone. When picking shows to watch on Netflix, I'm a documentary/slow-burn kind of guy, while my wife prefers fast and exciting so I can understand where you're coming from. Anyway my plan is to have these type of chilled out pace for my vlogs (the ones with the episode numbers in the title), while putting out separate shorter videos with the format that you would better enjoy, where I just get straight to the content and very little cinematics. I'm working on one right now actually!
@dominiqueveron70864 жыл бұрын
@@Cerriscapades Could you make the voice more exciting, not reading a ‘meditation’ session?
